We've played fantastically well over the festive period, we've managed 12 points from a possible 12.

This season we've got results against the likes of Southampton, Norwich and Wolves. Last season we would have lost to all three. We've got a strong squad this season, one that Is young and could struggle In the Premiership.

I personally think we could do to lose In the play-offs, then Kevin Blackwell could Invest further In the team and we could make a massive push for automatic promotion, as we may be a little to unprepared for the Premiership.

The FA Cup tie at Wigan will give us a true reading of how ready we are for the premiership and I will be eagerly listening to the game on the radio.

As for the results we've done fantastically well and I've been very Impressed with our performances over the festive period. We've been performing as Leeds were once known to.

Leeds 3-1 Coventry
Promotion-chasing Leeds rode their luck to beat Coventry who missed a penalty and twice hit the woodwork.
Jonathon Douglas put Leeds ahead just past the half-hour with a tidy volley only for Don Hutchison to equalise with a long-range volley on 58 minutes.

Robbie Blake fired into the roof of the net to make it 2-1, with Richard Creswell's drilled shot adding a third.

With eight minutes left Gary McSheffrey missed his spotkick after Michael Doyle had been brought down by Paul Butler.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leeds assistant manager:
"It was a class goal.
"We believe the character of our squad is the best base we have to work from, and that proved it, coming so soon after their equaliser.

"It is the third time we have been pegged back and gone on to win at home and it was a tough game today.

"I'm pleased with the whole squad, they all played their part."

Coventry boss Micky Adams:
"It wasn't our day. It's all about scoring goals and we have created chances and then been a little bit unfortunate.
"It looked as though we dominated. We played terrific football and frustrated Leeds but it's all about scoring.

"We came here full of confidence and it showed. The players have seen enough to realise it was a good display and we have to take that into the Crewe game."

Stoke 0-1 Leeds
Eddie Lewis' goal secured Leeds victory in a game that was dominated by Stoke.
Paul Gallagher had a penalty saved by Leeds goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, who late on pushed substitute Hannes Sigurdsson's shot onto the woodwork.

And with 22 minutes remaining Jonathan's Douglas cross from the right somehow evaded the Stoke defence, leaving Lewis to score from five yards.

Stoke's luck was summed up in stoppage time when Michael Duberry's close-range effort come back off the bar.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stoke assistant manager Jan do Koning:

"There was only one team that deserved to win and that was us.

"It was the same as against Burnley on Boxing Day. In the second half at Turf Moor we didn't control it but for the whole game we were better than Leeds.

"The only thing we didn't do was score the goal and everyone at the club, the management and the players, are all very disappointed."

Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell:

"To get promoted you need Lady Luck to smile on you, and the physical desire for a fight if you need one, then you can win it by good football.

"It's a whole raft of things and the players are showing the work ethic and the desire to put their body on the line when they need to.

"But we've got skill as well with the likes of Eddie Lewis, David Healy and Robbie Blake, who can open people up."

Stoke: Simonsen, Halls (Buxton 75), Duberry, Hoefkens, Broomes (Sigurdsson 82), Gallagher, Russell, Brammer, Chadwick, Bangoura, Sidibe.

Leeds 2-0 Hull
Jonathan Douglas' double gave Leeds victory over Yorkshire rivals Hull.
Hull goalkeeper Boaz Myhill denied Robbie Blake just before the half-hour with a superb save while Craig Fagan's shot then hit the bar for Hull.

But on the stroke of half-time Blake controlled a long ball from Matthew Kilgallon and found Douglas, who stroked home a low, diagonal finish.

On 53 minutes Richard Creswell hit the post for Leeds and soon after Douglas nodded in his second from close range.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leeds manager Kevin Blackwell said:
"It's an old adage but you take one game at a time. We dealt with Stoke and then we focused on dealing with Hull here.
"That's what we've got to do and we shall see where we end up. Since June, 12 new players have come to the club and it takes time to build.

"But I felt that we would improve in the second half of the season."

Hull manager Peter Taylor jokes that Boaz Myhill's error may put off suitors Wigan:
"If Wigan are listening, then yes, it was a mistake. He's got to get more on it than what he did, or he's got to stay where he is.
"That's where the second goal was frustrating because I thought we did very well in the first half.

"Maybe Leeds took confidence from that after the break."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leeds: Sullivan, Kelly, Butler, Kilgallon, Crainey (Pugh 80), Miller, Douglas, Derry, Lewis, Cresswell (Hulse 78), Blake (Healy 78).

They did go in front when Lewis drove the ball goalwards and Cresswell glanced in a header past Roman Larrieu.

The impressive Lewis then crossed for Robbie Blake to fire home before Rob Hulse made it 3-0 from the penalty spot when Mathias Doumbe fouled Liam Miller.
