August, 23 1995, Inønu stadion, Istanbul: Besiktas vs Rosenborg BK First half: Besiktas got a good start of the game with a goal inside the first ten minutes. Stefan Kuntz got his head on the ball and Besiktas took the lead. But after only one goal in the first half, had Besiktas to score two more goals in the second half to get extra time. First half end result: 1-0 Second half: Besiktas got a freekick in the first minute of the second half. The norwegian Ronny Johnsen shot but Erik Hoftun saved the ball with a head. But the ball was inside. It should have been 2-0. The refree did not see it. It was very difficult to see it, but it was inside. He scored, and with the 1-1 result and the away goal was Rosenborg ready for the Champions League. Unless Besiktas scores 4 more goals... OMG, yeah Now we,re going back to September, 27 1995. The first Champions League game in Trondheim. September, 27 1995. Lerkendal stadion, Trondheim. Matchday 2 Rosenborg vs Blackburn ![]() First half: Rosenborgs first homegame in the Champions League was against the English Premier League winner Blackburn. Both teams lost their first games, but it was Blackburn who had to win this game. What if the English team would have 0 points after two games? Noone gave Rosenborg a chance, even though it was in Trondheim. Rosenborg took the lead after 30 minutes. Karl Petter Løken scored a strange goal with his left-foot and Trondheim was so in heaven. Just minutes later got Rosenborg their second penalty in the competition-but Mini shot in the bar. That was sad, because Mike Newell scored at the end of the first half, and the halftimeresult was 1-1. Halftime result: 1-1 Second half: Rosenborg played well, but they had to wait for the winner-goal. Four minutes from time came leftback Ståle Stensaas in a great position and with a hard shot he became the matchwinner. Rosenborg won 2-1! 1-0, Karl Petter Løken, 30 1-1, Mike Newell, 45 2-1, Ståle Stensaas, 86 End result: 2-1 Spartak Moscow took their second victory when they won 2-1 against Legia. Matchday 2 results: Porto 2:0 Aalborg Nantes 0:0 Panathinaikos Rosenborg 2:1 Blackburn Spartak Moscow 2:1 Legia Warsawa Juventus 3:0 Steaua Rangers 2:2 Dortmund Fernecvaros 1:5 Ajax Real Madrid 2:0 Grasshoppers Videoes: Karl Petter Løken gave Rosenborg the lead. Great matchwinnergoal by Stensaas!!! |
