Tell your story! Short, or long, its all up to you.

Lets start with FIFA World Cup 2006. A tournament which gave us a lot of memories. ;)

Germany - Costa Rica 4-2, Opening game.

Friday, 9th 2006. 3:00 PM, Norwegian time.
Ive never been so obsessed to get back from school as that day. I remember how beautiful it was to hear the German National Anthem as a start of the FIFA World Cup.

The game was also very good. 1-0 Inside the first ten minutes, a beauti by Phillip Lahm. Costa Rica gave the world a good game and they were always a danger for Germany. But two minutes from time scored Germany the 4-2 goal and the game was over. Great game. B)

Our beginning was crap but as soon as we beat Togo, we were up and running, we crushed Spain, we got Brazil with domination, a hard fought match against Portugal, and the final we should've won....

I have lots of stories to tell from teh World Cup, as I was in Germany/Switzerland/Italy at the time. But I'll start at the beginning. I was at home for this game:
AUSTRALIA 3-1 JAPAN

Monday 12th July 2006, 11.00pm Australian Time.

This game was fairly inconviniently placed, but not as bad as the 2am and 5am timeslots that the rest of the population had to deal with over the course of the tournament.

Anyway, the anticipation of seeing my country in the World Cup was very exciting. I couldn't wait for the game to start.

Both teams had a nervous beginning, but once the Japanese goal went in, it was panic stations. Schwarzer was clearly fouled, yet the poor standard of refereeing was evident from the beginning of the tournament and the goal counted.

Time ticked away as Australia dominated the match. If we lost, our World Cup Dream would be over before it started. We were hoping to snatch a draw, which would still leave us in a perilous position. But then, in the 84th, 89th and 92nd minutes, Cahill! Cahill! Aloisi! Amazing! Cahill's first goal was a scramble but made up for it with his second goal.
I went to sleep after the match at 1am as the flight was later that day. I was very happy and excited. :D

I'll always remember falling asleep in front of the Germany-Sweden game in the second round. In falling sleep, I managed to miss both goals and Lucic being sent off, which were arguably the most interesting parts of the game.

Unlucky :P

I remember being at my cousins house during the Germany-Argentina match, and I missed arguably the best match of the tournament - Germany v Italy - 'cos I was at our school's Prom.

I remember I almost sleeped during England-Paraguay- Great start!

In England-TT i support Trinidad and was very angry when Crouch cheated a goal!

England-Sweden was a great game and I couldnt believe it when Cole scored from 30 meters!!!

I didnt see England-Ecuador, but I saw England-Portugal. Funny shootout, but I wanted England to win...

Australia:
I remember Australia-Japan. A funny goal by the Japaneeses seemed to be the winner-goal and I went out with my friends. We walked past a pub in my city and then we saw the 3-1 goal. Awesome!

I saw Brazil-Australia too. They didnt play bad at all! :)2

While Croatia and Australia played, I drove to my holiday-place, because it was the first day in my holiday.

We ate dinner while we saw Australia-Italy. Damn Italians, scored at the stoppage time! :|

Very arguably! that had to be the most boring match of the tournament, and possibly the most boring match of soccer that I have ever seen. I was in a little country town in Italy, we had to rent a TV to watch the games while we were there. No goals until the 120th minute! And hardly a shot on goal. They were neither attacking teams, both just played possesion football at the back. Terrible!
