The fixtures that should interest TC2ers are: Zambia v Egypt Cameroon v Togo Gabon v Morocco Bahrain v New Zealand - play-off match, 1st leg Luxembourg v Switzerland Russia v Germany Ukraine v England Denmark v Sweden Liechtenstein v Azerbaijan Republic of Ireland v Italy Slovakia v Slovenia France v Faroe Islands Greece v Latvia USA v Costa Rica Argentina v Peru - are Argentina going to fail? Bolivia v Brazil Also, see this. It's clearly being done to make sure big teams are there in case France, Argentina and Portugal etc fail...

They are corrupt bastards. I personally would love to see France-Germany for a place in the world cup, or better yet, Ireland-Slovakia. I'm hoping Argentina fail again against Peru but I don't think it will happen. Peru is one of the weakest teams in South America and Argentina are at home, and they have to win. I think they will finally get it right this time. Also I'm supporting New Zealand big time this weekend. Come on NZ! Edited by hugh, Oct 8 2009, 06:10 AM.

They have qualified by the way Gabon beating Morocco, 1-0, at the moment Looks like Cameroon will be making a return as they're 2 goals up against Togo EDIT: Gabon won, 3-1! The first was an own goal, the other two were scored by Mouloungui and Cousin Cameroon also won, 3-0

Green was sent-off early on with James having to come on for Lennon. Rio Ferdinand was at fault for the goal and Terry was the only good defender apparently. Rooney I hear was good but that doesn't matter, they still lost. No worries though, England qualified earlier. I think the players treated this as a friendly. The Ukraine fans kept throwing flares onto the pitch, not good at all. The referee was going to call the game off if they continued. England next play Belarus at Wembley in the week. Germany have qualified after a 1-0 win in Russia! Switzerland are close to qualifying - Greece and Latvia have to draw I think.

Slovakia were close to qualifying but they ended up losing 2-0 at home to Slovenia! Turkey are out and Bosnia & Herzegovina will take their place in the play-offs. The Republic of Ireland drew 2-2 with Italy but they'll have to settle for a play-off spot
