Having Green go off after 15 minutes blew it all and thus Ukraine won. I can't see how England "was the one to fail" - they won the group and thrashed Croatia home and away. Ukraine and Croatia drew both of their matches. England are currently leading Belarus 1-0 at half-time. Quite a bore after the first 15 minutes. Crouch scored the goal - I swear he only gets lucky ones for England

An early own-goal seems to be the breaker that sends Slovenia to the play-offs instead. Can Poland help Slovenia in the end? EDIT: Cyprus were 2-0 up in Italy, but lost 3-2! Gilardino scored a hat-trick in the last 13 minutes! Denmark are currently losing at home too, if so it will be the their first qualification defeat at home since 1981! Portugal climbing the play-off, no surprise.

I, and I think most of you, expected the Czech Republic to top this group and Poland to finish second, with Northern Ireland third (well I thought so anyway, they're not bad now). Slovakia have really surprised me, especially since they were poor against England when I saw them live ( , or was England just too good?). I hope they can hold out against Poland but I don't think they'll offer much at the finals.

Argentina scored a late goal to leave Uruguay in a play-off to face Costa Rica. Honduras have reached their first World Cup since 1982! The European play-off draw is on Monday but I think the seedings are announced tomorrow.
