Won the International Cup in 2002 and got to the final in 2005. We're ranked 4th in the world I think.

Rosenborg: I get by just fine really. The soccer season finishes at around the end of April/start of May, and it's the same time these sports start so it's basically straight into each other!

I've liked it for ages, just been too young to play it, and now the opportunity has arisen
Nah, it's an adapted 14-a-side version played on rugby pitches. It's not quite super 9's but it's an adapted version for a GAA pitch. There's no real well maintained open spaces big enough for Aussie Rules in every town.

Indeed! Well that's the plan :P Cricket certainly won't tire me out, and the Aussie Rules is excellent for my fitness. Haven't even decided if I'm going back to the football yet, I'll have to wait and see

Yeah, the ages are changing next year I think, which means I'll have to play u17 again, and I don't know if I want to switch team again.

Aussie Rules Training

Had been raining the entire day so the pitch was in a bit of a state, puddles all over the gaff. Still though, the 7 that actually turned up bravely battled on, and we did a couple of drills (Still have to get the hand of handballing the ball though!) All fairly positive stuff, but we need to start getting numbers for training. Looking forward to the Super 9's tournament, which actually counts as a part of the Premiership! So a good showing in that is imperative.

AFL is definitely a great sport for fitness, you're right. I've never played although it's meant to be fun, much more exciting than watching (doesn't do it for me personally).

But yeah, I'd still go back to football eventually.

I've played more Aussie Rules than Hugh :P

Yeah, it's very fast paced, and I can transfer a lot of my skills across from other codes. If I can get the hang of handballing then I'm away!

I won't be able to play in the Super 9's, and Mullingar tournaments, which is a pity. But I still have the home Premiership games to look forward to, training tomorrow. I hope the lads can do well up in Dublin without me!

Ok, so I've updated the fixtures post, and I'll be starting training for the cricket on Thursday before soccer training. The lads have had a great start so far(as you can see) and it'll be a struggle getting into the side (Especially considering my fist game mightn't be until the 5th June) Ere sher, just work away and hopefully my chance will come! I'll be gutted to miss Mullingar, but there's nothing I can really do about it.

Went cricket training last Thursday, and had a bit of time bowling in the nets, took a few wickets and I seem to be bowling well enough, didn't get a chance to bat, but if I can get the bowling sorted then batting will just be a matter of time before I get my eye back in.

Meanwhile the Leeside Lions played their first two games of the ARFLI Premiership in Mullingar today, no results yet.
