There are other weird mascots in Norway too. Aalesund has this blue dragon that throws sweets up to the crowd. Vålerenga has a stupid man wearing a tight bath dress that women use... who runs down the pitch with a VIF flag...

A few ones from my visit in Aalesund back in the summer of 2005. 11.000 Orange fans saw the relegation placed Aalesund team win a shocking 2-1 victory against the falling giants Rosenborg in this live broadcasted match.

I'm sorry for don't taking too many pictures, but I will be taking more when I return in June this season.

Warming up for this famous match.

Posted Image
Aalesund's fans, Stormen (the Storm), celebrating a 2-1 win after a well played match. The tango kits were a bit lucky, though. Rosenborg's Alejandro Lago, who played his first match for RBK, scored an own goal after three mins! Also, Storflor sent a penalty kick over the bar in the second half...

You can see Brown on the third picture as well

Indeed, he is very good. Their striker is also very good rated, Tor Hogne Aarøy. He is about 2,03 cm tall :|coffee

Rosenborg - Molde 3-1 (2008)

Derby at the 10th of August, sent live on TV2 at 8:00 PM. I had to come early to secure good seats for this match that was seen by only 18.000 people.

Posted Image
Still dark skys over Lerkendal, but the fans could see a bright side coming towards them...

Posted Image
Norway's first choice Rune Jarstein was facing a tough autumn with a lot of critizm by fans and media.

Posted Image
He did a fair job this night, even though he could have taken Molde's 3-1 strike.

Posted Image
"Guys... guys... Who are the ones on the other side of the pitch? I've kept an eye on them for a while and... they suck so bad!"

"Hmmm... My calendar says it's a league match, so there is no 4th division team in the cup or something..."

"I know! Is that... you know... Mjelde?"

"Mjelde it is. I don't think I can see them for 90 mins without being ill for days... Anyone up for a pizza after the first half?

Posted Image
Kjernen prepared to kick M*lde's fans...

Posted Image
"Oh Rosenborg, Oh Rosenborg, is Trondheim's football team..."

Posted Image
Rosenborg corner in the first half. See all the avialable seats in the background. Embarresing.

Posted Image
M*lde with a poor attempt... The ball ended up in between the lower and upper stand. Hahahaha. Molde. Hahhaha.

Rosenborg won the match 3-1 after a legendary debut for Besart Berisha, scoring two goals. However, he never scored again and is now sent back to Burnley. :neuneu:

Yeah, it's weird. Usually, there are less people going to games in the holidays, but still. There were 20k going to the Stabæk match four days earlier too. And the fact that it was on live TV should not make it less attractive to see it live.

23rd of October 2008. After knocking out Ekranas, NAC Breda, Djurgården and Brøndby, Rosenborg had qualified for the groupstage of the 2008-2009 UEFA-cup groupstage. RBK came in a tough group with Saint-Etienne, FC København, Brugge and Valencia. The opening round was played in Scandinavia between Rosenborg and Brugge / FC København and ASSE. As I had a day off, I traveled to Trondheim to see our match that was going to be intresting.

Posted Image

Going towards the stadium for the 100000th time. Lerkendal was bathing in a dark and cold October weather, and the flom lights shined up the perfect pitch. Another European Cup battle takes place in Trondheim. Who can possibly wait.

Posted Image

I ordered this UEFA-cup ticket pack from Kjernen, to secure tickets to both of Rosenborgs homegames. That was not neccesary, though: Only 11.000 ordered tickets on beforehand! Whats the matter with people in Trondheim. The UEFA-cup is not that diffirent from the UCL. If it was a league match against Godset, there would be like twice as many... Weird.

Posted Image

Kjernen did not take Visa, so I had to find a store to take out some money. I had to take a picture of this woman sitting in a RBK kit at work. All the workers in the REMA 1000 stores in Trondheim are wearing RBK kits on matchdays. Sweet.

Posted Image

I never went to the Valencia match, though, as I knew we were gonna lose and the fact that I was very out of money. I prefered getting 400 NOK back for my ticket than spending my last 600 NOK on a trip to Trondheim. A 14 year old dude from Venezuela got my ticket

Posted Image

Kjernen wanted the fans who ordered a ticket pack for both games to pick them up hours before the match, so they could sell normal tickets later. Therefore, I had plenty of time to spend, so I took pictures around the stadium. Enjoy

This is the bottom left corner of Rosenborg's fans shop at Lerkendal. I'm tempted to search for a summerjob here this year.

Posted Image

Lovely pictures are haning on the walls in the shop. Kjernen's scarf tifo against Schalke last year brings back good memories.

Posted Image

Souvenir scarfs. I would buy it if I had more money, cos I kinda collect them. I have ones from the matches against Real Madrid, Olympiacos, Valencia, Chelsea. And also against Arsenal, PSV and Panathinaikos from 2004, even though I didn't go to those games.

Posted Image

A favourite view for a fan. Nothing beats the feeling of watching your team play in a European Cup. Lerkendal looks great too. I hope they'll remove the VIP stands between the lower and upper stands in the future and make ONE stand out of it. And also, remove these posts like the one on the pitcture. A good stadium does not ruin the view of their own fans.

Posted Image

See? This would be a perfect picture if it hadn't been for the stupid post.

Posted Image

I could already imagine all the chances that would come in front of these goals. That goal has given so many celebration scenes here... Drogba scored two there as well, Chris :|

Posted Image

The biggest of them, the Adidas stand. "The ugly red one". I can't describe how much I would like to see them being black and white instead of getting this feeling that this is the homeground of Brann or Manchester United.

Posted Image

I can't wait to get over 40.000 seats at Lerkendal. And for the games we're actually filling it too. Rosenborg-Brann, 40.000 fans. Will that ever happend?

Posted Image

Thousands of people will enter here in just a few hours.

Posted Image

Going behind the Adressa stand on the other side of Kjernen's stand. I have seen three games from here: The intertoto cup games against NAC and Ekranas, and Rosenborg's 1-2 defeat for Odd Grenland in the Cup last summer.

Posted Image

This is where I went in for the UCL games in 2007. It's usualy the away stand, but for bigger games, the other side of the stand is for the visitors. Teams like Vålerenga, Zenit, Olympiacos, Chelsea and Arsenal had to use the other side, which is bigger. Brugge struggled to fill their little side this evening.

Posted Image

Thousands of Scummers have left this hall, swearing and crying after watching their team being pissed on.

Posted Image

The main entrance for players, managers and leaders.

Posted Image

It's so weird, cos just when I arrived here, the player buses came too. This has happend before, for instance Real Madrid and Chelsea. I remember walking alone and I saw a bus came. Then I saw Avram Grant in the front seat, and I think he saw me too. He will never forget that :|
Posted Image

Rosenborg BK my ass. This is Brugge's bus, muppets.

Posted Image

Trying to get a photo of the team I sticked to in season 9 of Fantasy Football :| How weird.

Posted Image

When Real Madrid entered here back in 2005, there was like 100 times more fans here, screaming for Beckham's autograph. You can smell a strong stench of deodorant when the stars are coming.

Posted Image

The only player I reckognized was Sonck. The others were unknown for me.

Posted Image

After my little sightseeing, the stadium was now open. Still an hour left so there were just a few fans there. Look at this view. Brilliant!

Posted Image

It doesn't look that bad from here, I admit. But come on, black and white seats, Rosenborg. It can't be that hard to fix.

Posted Image

Random

Posted Image

Hopefully, Rosenborg have earned three points when I go down this stairs after the match.

Posted Image

No doubt!

Posted Image

KJEMP FOR TROILLAN!!!

Posted Image

I love this. Dark nights, flom lights and fans making ready for playing a foreign team...

Posted Image

As always, I'm busy when the match is on so I don't have too many match photos. Here is one though.

Posted Image

The match ended as a tie, 0-0 after a boring match where Brugge defended with 9 men during the entire match. ASSE won, a little bit surprising, 3-1 in Denmark.

Indeed, it's good. Both Brugge and Rosenborg were eliminated in the end, though, so this was the amateurs of this group :neulol:

My next set of photos are from the 3rd division (level 4) match between Kolstad and Heimdal last summer. A very local derby that is, as Kolstad is placed in Heimdal. Kolstad used to have a decent side in 2nd division and they are also my local team when I am in Trondheim. My mother's apartment is like 200m from their homeground, so I can hear the speaker when I am home :neuneu:

Posted Image
Both fans kept singing "Who are the proud of Trondheim" after Rosenborg's 1-2 defeat earlier this week. All the teams from Trondheim in 2nd division lost this week too! But I think them both had a way to go to steal Rosenborg's position after one game :|

Posted Image
Ca. 200 people saw the match (400 if you count all the people who past by taking a walk with their dogs etc.. :|).

Kolstad's 16 year old keeper had to pick two balls out of his net in the first half, and Heimdal were 0-2 up at H/T. I went back home cos the wind was cold and I was bored.

I talked to Chris on MSN and he seemed surprised that I left a football match, but it's 3rd division, dammit. However, I missed a lot of action. Five mins into the second half I heared two roars and the speaker announce 1-2 and 2-2. A new roar, followed by a 3-2 announcement and 12 minutes into the second half, Kolstad went 4-2 up! Chris made up some crap that my presence brings tough luck to Kolstad, so I went back there and saw Kolstad score three more goals in a stunning 7-2 win

Posted Image
Kolstad - Heimdal 7-2 (0-2) :|

Elverum turned 0-3 to a 6-3 win earlier too. Norwegian 3rd division has some weird results :neulol:
