Yeah, I promised myself not to create one this year, after I failed keeping the 2007 and 2008 ones updated. But now we have a new Norwegian in here and hopefully get some discussions, not just "Rosenborg doing bad, eh, Marius?" and stuff. :neured:

Wellwell, this season includes 16 teams, after having 14 teams in it since 1995. Stabæk IF will play as defending champions after their brilliant win in 2008. Stabæk is a small club and they probably won it because all the big clubs had a bad season at the same time. Viking, Rosenborg, Brann, Lillestrøm and yeah, I guess Vålerenga is a big club too, they all failed at the same time. And after selling one of their best key players, Veigar Pall Gunnarson, I guess Stabæk will struggle to copy the 2008 season, even though they might get motivation from their new stadium that will be ready to host Stabæk's games this season: Telenor Arena.

Okey, here are the 16 sides who will fight for the biggest Norwegian title in 2009:

Since the Norwegian league has kept a bad level in the last years, there are no clear favourite for the gold in 2009. Who do you think will win it?

Rosenborg
Rosenborg is always mentioned. They have the money, the fans, the best players and everyone expect them to win. But they have failed and been struggling since the 13 in a row that ended in 2004. We'll see, but the manager Erik Hamrèn thinks 2009 is too early for Rosenborg

Stabæk
They are defending champions and will play in a brand new arena. Hopefully, they'll keep players like Nannskog, Alanzinho, Knudsen and Farnerud too. Playing at artifical grass might be a challenge for Stabæk, though.

Brann
After 43 years of wait, Brann brought the gold back home in 2007. Something happend last year, though, but they want to revenge that this season. Steinar Nilsen, their new manager, has done a great job with Tromsø earlier, but he has no experience with such a big club. However, Brann is a great candidat for the title.

Viking
Viking is like Liverpool, they always fail. But they have to be mentioned, cos it's a big club. Nice stadium, a good number of fans and many key players.

Fredrikstad
They finished 2nd last season, and even though that was because the other big teams failed, FFK proved that they are capable for doing well. FFK has not lost any keyplayers (yet), so I guess they wont be worse this season.

We will need a striker, as Konan and Iversen are highly wanted my English teams. Iversen has said he will end his career in Rosenborg, though, but we need a striker. The dialogue with Kenny Cooper is not over yet and we're still hoping to see him play in a RBK kit next season. Bodø/Glimt's Trond Olsen has been in our view lately too, but the winger is priced high by Bodø/Glimt, obviously.

Olympiacos has contacted Tettey too, but we don't want to sell him, which is good news.

That's it I guess, but it's still a long time to the league opener, which is 15th of March vs Vålerenga.

Wow Valerenga on opening day, that's going to be a good match  Cooper should go to Rosenborg though, I don't see the point in staying at Dallas

Bodø/Glimt is desperate for money and need healthy income so we can save the license for Tippeligaen 2010.

Players in:
Karl Morten Eek (Steinkjer FK) - Study compensation
Trond Fredrik "Ludde" Ludvigsen (Bosman, SK Brann) - Free

Players out:
Thomas Jacobsen (FC Lyn Oslo) - Free, 50% next transfer.
Birkir Bjarnason (Back to Viking after loan) - Out of cash for a permanent transfer.
Anders Karlsen (loan to Stavanger IF) - It seems that we have made a cooperation with Stavanger IF.
Vegard Sannes (Retire) - Injury

Whay, the thread is back - I like last years one with the round updates... they were class :notworthy: Hopefully you'll keep this one updated.

No Kamma in this season though, which means this season will be boring.

Three key players from the 2008 season from my club, Bodø/Glimt. Let's hope we don't sell them:

Pavel Londak
Pos: GK
Birth: May 14, 1980 in Estonia
Capped 15 times for Estonia. The latest as captain.
Posted Image
- Came to Bodø/Glimt from Flora Tallinn before 2007-season. Very stable GK. Unfortunately he got seriously injured in second match day in 2007 and missed about half of the season.
Strength: Reflexes, stability, jumping.
Weakness: 1 vs 1, communications with few players and sometimes too much confidence.

Per Verner Rønning
Pos: CB
Birth: January 9, 1983 in Levanger.
Former U21 player for Norway.
Posted Image
One of Bjørn Hansen and Kåre Ingebrigtsen's first priority signings before 2008-season. Bought from AIK Solna.
High and calm player. One of the best signings in Tippeligaen this season.
Strength: Strong in the air, heading, pace, ball control, tackling.
Weakness: Slow.

Trond Olsen
Pos: LW
Birth: February 5, 1984, Lyngen.
Capped once for Norway A-squad.
Posted Image
... Extreme. Has been a nightmare for about 90% of his opponents the last 2,5 seasons. This guy can score from the midfield. The best Norwegian player in the point ranking(?) (1pt pr goal, assist)
Strength: A mix between Speedy Gonzales and Roberto Carlos with good high confidence. Very good at speed dribbling. Counter attacker with assist.
Weakness: Only works in Bodø/Glimt's counter attack playing style. This season he has been brilliant.

All highlights from the 2008-season:

If Trond Olsen is that good, why hasn't he played for Norway more often?!

Nobody. Karen Espelund (Vice president) in NFF announced that they had a star coach on the thread.
And as I and Marius know, you can't trust NFF. :snooty:
The Norwegian national team is managed by media; VG and TV2.
And this season media discovered Olsen's qualities and hyped him up.
