Results

Juventus 1 Bordeaux 1 - good result for Bordeaux! They've improved since the last Champions League
Maccabi Haifa 0 Bayern Munich 3

FC Zurich 2 Real Madrid 5
Marseille 1 AC Milan 2

Chelsea 1 Porto 0
Atletico Madrid 0 APOEL Nicosia 0 - a point away from home too for APOEL!

Wolfsburg 3 CSKA Moscow 1
Besiktas 0 Manchester United 1 - lucky :|

Chelsea definitely missed Bosingwa and Drogba today. Kalou wasn't good at all from what I heard. The rain didn't help either. One more game for Bosingwa and 2 for Drogba though

I was watching the Sky Sports News coverage and one of them said "Zurich haven't been in the game ... wait, it's 3-2 now! haha"

Ah, welcome back. The rain certainly had an effect on the match but Chelsea struggled with it too  Chelsea missed Drogba and Bosingwa so to get a win in those conditions was great. Good start to the campaign.

I'm worried about the next match away to APOEL Nicosia though. They will be fired up after that draw with Atletico, and they'll want to do well in front of their home fans...

APOEL's homeground is tough and very intimate, but I doubt they can level Chelsea. Remember that they got this point now and now they feel very good, maybe better than they are. I think Chelsea will win easly 0-3 or something.

I let them all down :(

Stuttgart could have won at the end, they had so many chances and dominated the last part of the game. It's early in the campaign but I think the Ibrox match will be the decider for second place. Sevilla started with a win so we'll let them win the group :|

Debrecen weren't bad against Liverpool - I was expecting Liverpool to score 3 in the second half but they didn't. Debrecen should be dangerous away!

When the Stuttgart match wasn't working online, I switched to Inter Milan-Barcelona. It finished 0-0 - both good teams cancelling each other out. Inter had a few offsides and Barcelona came close on a few occasions. Not really exciting.

Arsenal... oh come on :|

I must say it was a shock coming 2-0 down so early. Standard is a good side I know and normally I would have predicted a draw here. We have showed class in games like this before so I thought we'd win comfortable 2-0 tonight. When I saw 1-0 I kinda didn't care cos it was so early, but 2-0!

Standard is still a small side, though, and we all knew they would struggle to keep the lead. Every team can score, but to keep the lead is also an important quality. I didn't see the game so it might have been pure luck, but coming back from this after two defeats in the league as well - that's strong. Chris will call it luck, like he did about Man Utd yesterday (ironcly enough after a few lucky Chelsea wins lately...).

Must say: I won £50 in gambling as well! Had Olympiakos and Lyon and Dynamo by two goals. When I walked out with my dog Dynamo had just made it 1-1 and it was 0-0 in the other games. When I returned Arsenal were in front and the others had scored! To quote Chris: THIS IS GREAT!

Debrecen actually played rather well and I have to say, they could be the dark horse of the group and get through into the last 16

But then again, this IS Liverpool we're talking about ... we never make anything easy

Congrats with the £50!

Arsenal were lucky actually, see this quote: "Even as an Arsenal fan I feel sorry for Standard right now because that second goal was ridiculous - offside, a handball AND a possible foul on the keeper. Silly."
