Play-off draw This is the last round before the group stage! All the winners will advance to meet the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona. The draw then: Lyon v Anderlecht Celtic v Arsenal Timisoara v Stuttgart (I'll take that )Sporting Lisbon v Fiorentina Panathinaikos v Atletico Madrid (Non-Champions path) FC Sheriff v Olympiakos Red Bull Salzburg v Maccabi Haifa Ventspils v FC Zurich FC Copenhagen v APOEL Nicosia Levski Sofia v Debrecen (Champions path) Can't believe Celtic drew Arsenal. I think I was telling Marius yesterday or the day before that if it happens, I should go Got to look into that, but I wish the matches were later when I had my student loan Anyway, Stuttgart have a good draw I think but this Romanian side seems to be dangerous if they can knock out the defending UEFA Cup champions! I expect Lyon to beat Anderlecht and I'm thinking Sporting Lisbon should overcome Fiorentina. Atletico to win too. Same goes for Olympiakos, Zurich and Copenhagen - Salzburg/Haifa and Levski/Debrecen I'm not sure of yet

Fiorentina to trash Sporting... Arsenal will have a tough tough time at Celtic Park. Haccabi Mafia/Red Bull Soulless will be interesting, same goes for many of the other games! |

Saw the Celtic highlights earlier. Samaras scored in injury time to hand Celtic a 2-1 aggregate win! ![]() I can't believe they even won away, their record is poor

Predictions: Lyon v Anderlecht Should be okey on a normal day for Lyon. Anderlecht is too good to be underrated, though. Celtic v Arsenal 40/60 game. Arsenal will have a tough time at Celtic Park, but the Scottish runner-ups shouldn't be more than a dump in our road to the Champ.League. Timisoara v Stuttgart Never heard of the other team, although they beat the UEFA-cup champions earlier. Sporting Lisbon v Fiorentina Italian football is much stronger and Sporting is not really that good. They were in the last 16 last year, but they didn't hold the level there. Viola for another season in the groupstage. Panathinaikos v Atletico Madrid 50-50. I vote Madrid because they are Spanish, although Pana had a good season last year. You never know with teams like that though. FC Sheriff v Olympiakos Should be easy for the Greeks, but they thought the same before the Famagusta games last year. This season is revenge though. Red Bull Salzburg v Maccabi Haifa Interesting. Maccabi was in the groupstage in 2002 and came close in 2004. Haven't seen them since and now they can return if they beat Salzburg. Ventspils v FC Zurich Zurich sucks, but Ventspils sucks even more. FC Copenhagen v APOEL Nicosia The Danish champions didn't impress against Stabæk and Cyprus had a team in the groupstage last year. But FCK should be stronger. Levski Sofia v Debrecen Levski lost all their games in the 2006/2007 groupstage, but at least they were there. Debrecen have never been in it I think. Bulgaria is the shit. |

The Play-off round begins tonight with the following fixtures (predictions in brackets): Celtic v Arsenal (1-1) FC Copenhagen v APOEL FC (2-0) Sheriff v Olympiakos (0-3) Timisoara v Stuttgart (1-2) Sporting v Fiorentina (1-0) Can't believe Marius and I saw FCK's previous Champions League match! I think Celtic will do well at home tonight. Stuttgart should win too, but Timisoara are dangerous as they knocked out the UEFA Cup champions in the last round!A shame Celtic-Arsenal isn't on TV though - ITV chose Panathinaikos-Atletico for tomorrow instead |

Same over here. It's weird how they suddenly stop the 'England first' tradition when neither Liverpool or Man.Utd are playing. |

Exactly, they were lucky - a deflected shot and an own goal, come on The second half of the play-off is on today (with predictions in brackets again): Red Bull Salzburg v Maccabi Haifa (2-0) Ventspils v FC Zurich (0-1) Levski Sofia v Debrecen (2-1) Lyon v Anderlecht (3-1) Panathinaikos v Atletico Madrid (1-2) |

Lyon 4-0 up and they'll advance easly Lyon for a good season in Europe?I'm having an eye on Panathinaikos-A.Madrid, but it's not really entertaining. I expect more on the field and the stands as well. Madrid is the better side and they're going for a close win/draw and an away goal so it says itself that it's not a cracker The visitors are currently 0-1 up as well after a great combination between Forlan and Rodriguez. Forlan showed big class there, setting up the goal for Rodriguez who stayed cool and scored. Looked so easy and so skilled. Can Atletico advance to the knockout-stage this season as well? Don't get it wrong, Pana is not out yet and they have had a ball in the nets as well - though ruled out for offside
