I think Milan gave up at that point. :|

Real Madrid are out at this stage for the sixth successive year after drawing 1-1 with Lyon (losing 2-1 on aggregate)!

Great result by Man Utd this morning!! It was a really effective performance, in defence mostly, we shut down everything AC Milan had in attack and they never got a look in. A great European match. :notworthy:

The suprise is Lyon of course - i ever thought they would do it. Well done to them. I just had to laugh at Ronaldo at the end :ohdear

Great performance indeed. The game was over after 20 minutes so it wasn't that great I don't think.

I didn't expect Lyon to qualify either - sensational! Bye bye Ronaldo! :D

Here's a summary of this week's matches (more to come next week, remember):

Arsenal 5 Porto 0
Arsenal advance 6-2 on aggregate.

Manchester United 4 AC Milan 0
Manchester United advance 7-2 on aggregate.

Real Madrid 1 Lyon 1
Lyon advance 2-1 on aggregate.

I'm gonna say Manchester United have got it won this year, but I can see Lyon being the dark horse.

Just watched the Mourinho press conference - can't wait now for tomorrow  I'm so gutted I can't get a ticket though.

Anyway, here are the fixtures this week:

Tomorrow
Chelsea v Inter Milan (1-2)
Sevilla v CSKA Moscow (1-1)

Wednesday
Barcelona v Stuttgart (1-1) - on ITV for us in the UK
Bordeaux v Olympiakos (1-0)

The Chelsea match will be close and I won't be surprised if he exit the competition at this stage.

Over 30 minutes before the game then. Turnbull in goal for Chelsea. Zhirkov is back at left-back so Malouda moves forward. Alex ahead of Carvalho, thank god.

Chelsea: Turnbull, Ivanovic, Alex, Terry, Zhirkov, Ballack, Mikel, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba, Malouda.
Subs: Taylor, Carvalho, Joe Cole, Kalou, Sturridge, Belletti, Bruma.
Inter Milan: Julio Cesar, Maicon, Lucio, Samuel, Zanetti, Cambiasso, Sneijder, Motta, Pandev, Eto'o, Milito. Subs: Toldo, Cordoba, Stankovic, Quaresma, Mariga, Materazzi, Santon.
Referee: Wolfgang Stark (Germany)

No Ovrebo, that's a good start already.

Madrid out, Chelsea out, what a year. Now United can go and the Italians as well, then it'll be even better for the ratings!

Whay @ Chris. really active before the game... Sulking when they've lost! I'm putting my bets on Arsenal (As I have done for the last two years). So, I'll never see that £5 again. (That's ZZ for placing the bet! You'll win your next game, eh).

Me and Marius have recorded something, which I'll upload to YouTube once I get match pictures. Marius and Ligue have heard and it and both really enjoy it.

But enough of that .... REAL MADRID, CHELSEA ... 'HO ARE YA? 'HO ARE YA? OUT OF EUROPE!! COME ON UNITED, GET FUCKED OVER IN THE NEXT ROUND AND ARSENAL TO WIN IT ALL!!!

And .... I'm done.

WOW! :eek2: :eek2: :D I did not expect that at all!! Amazing that Inter won. Mourinho after the match: 'we were the better team from the 1st minute onwards'! This is a really open Champions League now. Come on Man Utd-Barca final.

CSKA winning in Sevilla too! B) Terrible goalkeeping from Palop for the winning goal, but well done to the russians!

TGL - Liverpool were knocked out in the group stage - "'ho are ya?" :|

Disappointing defeat that. I doubt any of you will believe me or care if I said Chelsea should have had a penalty in the first half when Samuel man-handled Drogba to the ground. Good tactics from Mourinho, well played. At least this was a fair loss (although we should have had a blatant penalty in the first leg which wasn't given, and that would have changed the game) after the ghost goal against Liverpool and the ref against Barcelona for example.

I'm being totally honest here, what was Drogba's red card for? Never saw a stamp or anything

I knew Chelsea wouldn't repeat their previous feats this season anyway and I said that at the start. After getting so close for many years, this year was never going to be the same.

I hope Mourinho (or obviously Stuttgart  ) goes on to win it.

But Chris, we was poor in the group stages, Chelsea however had lost their heads in the final 10 minutes. We beat Inter Milan a few years back!

Liverpool were knocked out in the group stage - that's still worse

Forgot to mention CSKA Moscow 2-1 win away to Sevilla, nice performance from them. The Round of 16 ends tonight with Barcelona v Stuttgart (1-1 on aggregate at the moment, live on ITV1 for us in the UK) and Bordeaux v Olympiakos (1-0 at the moment). Barcelona and Bordeaux to advance, surely. Can't wait to see Stuttgart on TV though B)
