They have a good set of teams but Arsenal will drop out? Makes sense? My Predictions: Group A Juventus Bayern Munich -------------------- Bordeaux Maccabi Haifa Bayern haven't had a great start to the season. Juventus have brought in a number of players such as Cannavaro and Diego, and I think they'll top the group. Despite being the French champions, I can't see Bordeaux sneaking through. The trips to Maccabi Haifa will be tough for the other teams so it will be interesting to see how they fare in Israel. Group B Manchester United Wolfsburg --------------------- CSKA Moscow Besiktas Can't really decide between Wolfsburg, CSKA and Besiktas. A trip to Russia and Turkey is always tough but I think United will have what it takes to win there. Not sure about how Wolfsburg will do. They won the German league but they lost their manager. Not sure how they'll do in Europe. They've never been here before. Group C Real Madrid AC Milan --------------- Marseille FC Zurich I doubt FC Zurich will pick up any points really. Marseille have improved their squad and AC Milan haven't been the same since Ancelotti left, so there's hope for Marseille there. I still think AC will advance though. Looking forward to seeing how well Real do with their new, great squad. I expect them to finish top with ease. Group D Chelsea Atletico Madrid -------------------- Porto APOEL Nicosia Chelsea should qualify from this but they'll face a tough challenge from Atletico and Porto. APOEL Nicosia shouldn't challenge much. Porto lost some key players in the transfer window so they'll be weakened. 3 quality teams here so I'm not thinking about the next stage just yet! Group E Liverpool Lyon --------------- Fiorentina Debrecen Lyon and Fiorentina are decent teams so Liverpool should be worried here. I think they'll top the group though and Lyon and Fiorentina will battle for second place. Debrecen could be an interesting trip away. Group F Barcelona Inter Milan ------------------ Dynamo Kiev Rubin Kazan Ibrahimovic and Eto'o swapped over recently and now they'll be facing their old clubs! Can't wait. Can't see Dynamo or Rubin Kazan causing any problems here, although Dynamo Kiev are no pushovers and Rubin Kazan are the Russian champions, and no team should expect a straight forward victory in Russia. Group G Sevilla Stuttgart ----------------- Rangers Unirea Urziceni I'm not being biased here before anyone says so. Sevilla are a decent team but this is a great draw for Stuttgart and Rangers - they'll be battling for second place I think. Unirea Urziceni are an unknown quantity and should be interesting. They're managed by former Chelsea legend Dan Petrescu. Since Stuttgart got Babbel in as manager, they've improved and a late charge in the Bundesliga last season saw them sneak into the Champions League places. I'm not going to have my green and white glasses on, as Marius would say - Rangers are decent. When the two met in 2007-08, Stuttgart won 3-2 at home I think, but lost at Ibrox. This will be great to see. Group H Arsenal Olympiakos ----------------- AZ Alkmaar Standard Liege Arsenal to win this one with ease. They'll beat them well at home but away to Olympiakos will be a different story. AZ Alkmaar and Standard Liege - champions of the Netherlands and Belgium respectively - don't offer much to make me think they'll qualify. Good teams in their own countries, but Europe? Chelsea fixtures: Tuesday 15 September Chelsea v Porto Wednesday 30 September APOEL v Chelsea Wednesday 21 October Chelsea v Atlético Madrid Tuesday 3 November Atlético Madrid v Chelsea Wednesday 25 November Porto v Chelsea Tuesday 8 December Chelsea v APOEL Should be able to see Atletico and APOEL! |

Group G is of course the easiest It seems that with this new system all the groups have 2, maximum 3, really good teams and it's pretty clear who will get to the Knockout stage. Admin's predictions are quite accurate

What do you think about United's group then? Who do you think will join them in the next round? Or maybe they won't qualify in your opinion... Eduardo's being investigated by UEFA and Wenger's just said it's a "complete disgrace"

It is a disgrace - they're already through, so what's the point? Good group as well It'll take guts for Marseille to get out of that group, I think we've got the players to make it happen though. 2nd place would be good enough for me I look forward to playing Madrid |

So you're saying Eduardo shouldn't be punished for the dive?

It's nice to see United- and Chelsea-fans going wild when they see an Arsenal player diving for a change. It's like we're as bad as them now so they're trying to bake us as much as possible ![]() Wake up guys. Drogba dived three times more only in the Chelsea-Barcelona match. |

Olympiakos doesn't have a decent striker or a decent LM. If they bring in 2 players for those positions that are good they can cope with Alkamaar and Liege, else their chances of finishing 3rd let alone 2nd are slim. |
