Strange to say "WHAY" after losing 2-0 to the current Wooden Spoon team, though. Wouldn't say Rafa is very safe either :|

I think that its a disgrace that they announced the manager before they had even sacked Hughes.

They didn't - it was just rumours  I am surprised about this though. Hughes hasn't done that bad and he was still building the team. The owners aren't giving a chance, they wanted instant success. Mancini will be under alot of pressure - but it will be interesting to see how he does. Another Italian here

The owners said it was because he only won two games in eleven matches but City aren't doing too bad in the league overall. I've heard also that Hughes was angry after hearing City contacted Hiddink...

Exactly

Matchday 18: Part 1

Posted Image
Defensive problems for United meant Fulham easily beat them 3-0 at Craven Cottage.

Results

Arsenal 3 Hull 0
Aston Villa 1 Stoke 0
Blackburn 0 Tottenham 2
Fulham 3 Manchester United 0
Manchester City 4 Sunderland 3
Portsmouth 2 Liverpool 0

Table

Table

With Manchester United losing, Chelsea can extend their lead to six points if they beat West Ham away tomorrow. Arsenal are up to third. Portsmouth's win over Liverpool means they stay bottom but are level on points with Wolves.

Next Fixtures

Sunday
Everton v Birmingham
West Ham v Chelsea
Wolves v Burnley

Monday
Wigan v Bolton

Look out for...

Bobby Zamora of Fulham. He's been on fire recently, leading calls for him to be in the England squad...

...and finally

What a day  Great to see United and Liverpool lose! United have an excuse with no defenders but this helps Chelsea alot. Chelsea will probably mess up tomorrow, although West Ham away is always tough for us. Liverpool are just poor. They even had Torres back but Pompey's goals - :eek2: . This will be the start of their rise out of the relegation zone with Avram Grant leading them.

I mentioned Hughes and Mancini in my previous post. Should have given him more time, I think he had one transfer window with all that money? Carling Cup semi-finals too so they're not doing too bad. It will be interesting to see how Mancini does in England.

Carew's celebration for Villa - kicking the corner flag into the crowd :tsk: He apologised and gave his shirt to the fan he nearly hit so well done to him

Arsenal did well - Denilson's free kick was great. Blackburn is normally a tough place for Spurs to the London side did well there too. Crouch scored two. Apparently the players went to Dublin for a Christmas party without Redknapp's consent :o

Really surprised Man City sacked their manager. Man City have had a good season so far...

Champions need luck in the season and Chelsea may have just had it. West Ham scored and Chelsea were just awarded a debatable penalty. Lampard scored but then he was told to re-take it. Lampard scored again, and again he had to re-take it! Lampard then SCORED AGAIN and this time it counted. Clearly the referee felt the penalty shouldn't have been given so he was hoping Lampard would miss it when he was told to take it again. 3 penalties scored but one goal

Just three matches to report on so I won't do a report. West Ham 1 Chelsea 1, Everton 1 Birmingham 1 and Wolves 2 Burnley 0 were the other games.

I'm still stunned after hearing that song three times. I thought they liked Carew, but I question that fact now. Can't say anything but :|

Birmingham have been unlucky, they had a goal wrongly ruled out for offside in the first half. Ancelotti has taken Lampard off, normally the player who can turn things around in moments like this...
