...and finally

Stunning win for Chelsea. Malouda is seriously on form :notworthy: Zhirkov was great with his runs too. Great passing, great performance. Lampard with four goals sent him ahead of Roy Bentley and Peter Osgood and into third place in the all-time Chelsea goalscoring charts with a total of 151 goals. Only Kerry Dixon and Bobby Tambling are now ahead of Lampard.

The Champions League exit will keep our focus on the League and FA Cup so there is something positive from that. Man United next in the big game - they'll have to face Bayern Munich in mid week though so Chelsea will be fresher :neutie: Speaking of United - Van der Sar pulled off a great save earlier. Can't believe he's nearly 40!

West Ham's problems continue. Zola is considering his future as manager - could be off soon then.

Good response by Man Utd. :notworthy: Without Rooney as well, though I dare say him and Drogba will be back next week against for the top-of-the-table clash. I can't wait, such a big match

Of course this gives advantage to Chelsea, but playing at Old Trafford is always difficult for them. A draw could be acceptable for Man Utd.

If Chelsea win, it won't 'seal the title' (as the media would say) - we'll drop points against Tottenham and Liverpool.

Great win by Chelsea B) A shame the winning goal had to come from an offside Drogba but we've had so many decisions go against us, it's about time we got some luck. We dominated the first half and less so in the second half. United hardly did anything and missed Rooney. Great to see Joe Cole scoring (cheeky goal B) ) after being injured and off form for a while.

Chelsea go back to the top of the table but I think we'll drop points against Spurs and Liverpool so I don't want to get REALLY excited. :|

How much more proof do the FA need that we need electronic assistance refereering!? :|

I agree that a lot of calls go against Chelsea, but they should make damn sure a title-changing call be the right one. Aaarg! :|

The FA need to stop Fergie time too - where did the 4 minutes come from? :|

A 2-1 win at Old Trafford makes Chelsea jump two points clear over Manchester United.

Results

Arsenal 1 Wolverhampton 0
Bolton 0 Aston Villa 1
Burnley 1 Manchester City 6
Manchester United 1 Chelsea 2
Portsmouth 0 Blackburn 0
Stoke 2 Hull 0
Sunderland 3 Tottenham 1

Table

Table

The title race and the race for fourth is really getting exciting!

1. Chelsea - 74 points
2. Manchester United - 72 points
3. Arsenal - 71 points

4. Manchester City - 59 points
5. Tottenham - 58 points
6. Liverpool - 54 points
7. Aston Villa - 54 points!

Portsmouth could have been relegated tomorrow if West Ham beat Everton.

Championship watch

So who will replace Portsmouth and two other teams?

Newcastle could have been promoted today if results went their way but it will have to wait another weekend. They beat Peterborough 3-2. The Magpies are on 86 points with West Bromwich Albion 4 points behind (and have played a game more). These two are likely to go up.

Nottingham Forest, Cardiff City, Swansea and Leicester currently occupy the play-off places. Blackpool are a point outside the play-offs. Middlesbrough are 6 points away, as are Doncaster and Sheffield United.

Next Fixtures

Tomorrow (Sunday)
Birmingham v Liverpool
Everton v West Ham
Fulham v Wigan

...and finally

Great win by Chelsea, fully deserved in my opinion - and no, I don't have blue tinted glasses on. :| More about the match in my posts above.

Lucky Arsenal are still in the title race after a last minute goal by Bendtner. Could be a crucial win that!

Great performance from Manchester City, although Burnley were just poor. Fans were walking out after 25 minutes. City were 3-0 up after 7 minutes  The race for the top 4 is close! Spurs were poor in their game, they could have lost by a bigger margin. They have some tough games coming up - Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal. I think they can take points off Chelsea and Arsenal though.

Seriously stop the Fergie time references. 4 minutes is normal for injury time. :|

Though Chelsea were better value across the match, it's definitely not right that the winning goal comes from such a blatantly bad call. Man Utd clearly missed Rooney, but the title is not over yet. Though I dare see we have to win every match, the main concern being next week away to Man City. :neutie:

While I agree that Drogba's goal was crap, on the other hand Macheda's was clearly a handball anyhow, but...still :|

If only Rooney wasn't injured :(

And where did the four minutes come from? No-one was on the field wanting treatment and the substitutes alone can't take four minutes...

The title race is definitely not over, indeed. Hopefully Manchester City can do us a favour as I can see Spurs and Liverpool taking points off us. The race is great

John - indeed, Macheda's was wrongly allowed too. :neured:

Guys, see this video from Sky Sports News, reporting on Portsmouth-Birmingham:
