“We are ODST”, my very first thought when I saw the beginning of the game. You’re an ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), and you’re no Master Chief. Instead of shields, you have stamina. Instead of loud weapons, you get a deadly pistol and a SMG with a silencer on it. This is a prequel to HALO 3 and not only can you die easily, you need to know who to trust while going back into tactical skills through the marines eyes. The best of the best. Prepare to drop, and kick some Covenant butt.

Challenge: The challenge to this game was fair and good, died a few times but learned my mistakes. It has a very nice challenge to die easily, but survive. Your survivability is put to the test with the challenge.

Controls: The controls are easy, sometimes I turn my VISR off when I want to reload, but you’ll be able to get it down. Very simple, easy, and classic to the other HALO games with new options.

Graphics/Animation: The graphics/animation is just simply amazing in game-play, the characters are almost in 3D, while the rest is almost like an XBOX game but better. Everything moves smoothly, and it’s great.

Interface: Easy to move around, to find your weapons, VISR, objective for the mission, and map.

Length: It’s a bit shorter than HALO 3, maybe a bit longer or the same but the length kept me busy. If you beat the game in 24 hours or less, then get a couple of friends and do Firefight to keep your busy.

Sound: The sound is clear, you can understand the voice actors and actress, and I had to turn my TV down a few notches because it was to loud.

Storyline: This is all about the marines going into battle and defending a city against the Covenant. You start off as the Rookie, and while the game goes deeper, you’ll find out what your ODST buddies has been up to since the crash.

Firefight: Fight against Horde waves of Covenant, survive with your teammates, and know who to trust. This is HALO 3: ODST’s new mode to the HALO game. This is how ODST was meant to be played.

Overall, I would recommend this game to any HALO fan who want’s a bit more of a challenge, want’s tactical situations, or just wants to have fun in the HALO Universe. This game was awesome, and it has earned itself with the HALO Universe Family.

Challenge: 8.0
Controls: 10.0
Graphics/Animation : 9.0
Interface : 10.0
Responsiveness : 10.0
Sound : 10.0
Storyline : 10.0
Overall : 10.0
(all scores out of 10.0)
