NEW ZEALAND

- Their victory against Serbia in May is the only time in the last eight years that the All Whites have beaten a country in the top 50 of the Fifa rankings.
Nice. We get an important and exciting moment in our football history, and the BBC shits all over it :neulol:

We should be able win this and go through. We've got a pretty easy group really :|coffee

Also, I don't get how this is supposed to be an Africa's World Cup. If it gets played in Europe in the distant future, we won't be saying its Europe's World Cup.
Because this is the first World Cup in Africa? Duh.
Oh, so all the African teams are supposed to do well expectedly and win the cup?

That's what I interpret from Africa's World Cup so don't talk to me like I'm some kinda retard

Perhaps I miss interpreted it and you are actually saying it's a special occasion for Africa but I still don't give into that. It's a special occasion for South Africa than the whole of Africa imo.

LMAO, could see another surprise winner this year with the big teams under performing, Uruguay to win!

What could I do with that £800.

Well they could play Argentina next, Brooker - then they'd lose I reckon. Don't think about the money yet :|

Unlucky, NZ. That was a dive in the box for the Italian goal and penalty. Offside goal for New Zealand too, although it's hard to tell if Reid headed it to Smeltz or an Italian defender did...

Some may say dive but he was still clearly pulling his shirt.

It's a very close call who the header for our goal came from, but it also touched Cannavaro's knee on it's way through.

Half time. Gutted we don't still have the lead, but this is still fucking wicked, considering we were first on the goal sheet and held the lead for 22 minutes. If we can (somehow) hold out for a draw, this will top the Slovakia match by a long shot. We're not getting many chances though, and the Italians are getting very close to scoring on many occasions.

Looking forward to the next half.

One more thing, this is only the 2nd world cup match I've ever watched as a non-neutral supporter. It's an thrill like no other

Well yes, he was pulling his shirt, but then he just fell to the ground. Dive I'd say.

Breaking news too from the French camp - Evra and one of the coaching staff got into an argument and the training session was cancelled! Anelka's been sent home too (but we know that already), wow :eek2: I wish Alle was here to comment on this :|coffee

Yeah, it is kinda strange how you can pull on someone, and they fall away from you :neuthink:

1-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :point:

In many ways a victory for New Zealand! I'm certainly not the most patriotic person you'll ever meet, but I have never been more proud to be a New Zealander!

Someone give Mark Paston a medal :notworthy:

Matt Holland was doing the co-commentary, he started saying how Paston was only making the saves he was required to make and Stephen Alkin the main commentator basically told him to shut the fuck up! :P

Well done NZ and NZ!!! Hope the whole country enjoys it, personally I thought ye deserved to win it!!
