I heard the first 5 penalty takers are; Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney, Milner & Barry. For clubs they all score penalties 9 times out of 10 but as showed by Lampard, different story for England. |

Damn, that referee in Portugal-Brazil gives a yellow if you give him an angry look ![]() Lucio should have been sent off, though. Ivory Coast 2-0 up, but the road is too far. Although, Portual scored six v North Korea in the second half...

0-0, What a shock. It was always a 0-0 game tbh. I just wasted 95 minutes of my life. The starting point is better for the group H end, though. Will be a thriller! |

Nearly fell asleep during the Brazil-Portugal game, how disappointing. It was one of the matchups of the round but ended up being so boring. Looking forward to Group H tonight - Spain will have to go for the win so it should be better than this

Well, how can it be worse? Groupstage to end today then. What has been the best moments so far? Biggest scandals? Best goals? Most bizarre moments? What has been good, what has been bad? |

People were expecting a good game with Portugal v Brazil when Brazil are already through and Portugal just needing a point? I was happy that I missed the 1st half due to exams. I knew it wasn't going to produce much. |

Indeed. I didn't really expect more, but with so many good players I hoped for more. And I thought it would be better since the Brazilian fans always expect entertain from their team. I think it would have been a better game if Spain had won their group before the last match, but because of all the confusing if Spain will win their group or not, the 1st place of group G was never really an award. Like group D, when the 2nd place is better than 1st place. Second placed Ghana will play USA and the winners from Germany got England... |

Spain 2 Chile 1 Switzerland 0 Honduras 0 Chile dominated the first twenty minutes! Bravo messed up for Spain's opener though, running out of his goal to give David Villa an open goal. Chile were decent but it was all Spain from then on. Boring last 20 minutes when both sides settled for a place in the Second Round. I'm surprised Switzerland couldn't beat Honduras but overall, the neutrals should enjoy seeing Chile in the next round more than Switzerland. Chile are a good attacking team - looking forward to the Brazil match! Spain are back then, kind of. They still don't seem like European champions. Torres is still quiet - is he carrying an injury? Final group tables can be seen here. Proper knockout football starts tomorrow with the Second Round then (and don't forget to update your Fantasy Football and Predictor Challenge things!). The matches: Uruguay v South Korea USA v Ghana Germany v England Argentina v Mexico Netherlands v Slovakia Brazil v Chile Paraguay v Japan Spain v Portugal Predicting Uruguay, USA, Argentina, Netherlands, Brazil, Paraguay and Spain. Not going to predict Germany-England

Uruguay, Korea, Paraguay and Japan proved their qualities in this World Cup. I hope Japan beats Paraguay, but I doubt it. Slovakia to make trouble for Netherlands. Do we sense another Netherlands-Russia from euro2008? Honorable mention to another crap referee who sent Estrada off. Garbage. |

Indeed! He didn't mean to trip Torres. The decision was laughable. |

Disgraceful decision by the Mexican ref to send off the Chile guy, what was he thinking? Didn't watch the match but apparently Chile stoppped playing with 10 minutes left because they knew they would be through! All in all, the Group Stage was got a lot better after the first round was awful. However, it was dominated by terrible refereeing decisions and the odd GK mistake (Jabulani ). As well as this, the performances from African and European teams have been awful. 1 African win so far and European has a record low 6 teams in the Round of 16, to become 3 in the QFs. I recommend removing a spot from Africa (they have 5 ) and giving one to Asia.

Btw its 2 African wins as you are forgetting SA's win over France. Secondly, I wouldn't dare take a place off an African team for the Asian section. Just because you have 2 representitives in the last 16 in only THIS world cup, is a bit harsh. You have to look at the whole picture. You just have to look at the teams that missed out in our section: Tunisia, Morrocco, Mali, Egypt, Togo, Angola compared to yours in Iran, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. This shows it is hard enough to qualify from the African Section where only 1 qualifies per group while it seems that Japan, South Korea and now Australia have an easy ride and pretty much guarenteed a place at every world cup. You don't just look at the teams involved in the world cup and judge it only on ONE world cup but you have to look at the standard of the teams in the qualifying sector.

It's so weird, Europe have almost 50% of the spots this year, but it's still the hardest qualification section. Just look at the teams that missed out in our continent: -Russia -Croatia -Turkey -Ukraine -Poland -Czech rep. -Rep.Ireland -Sweden |
