He receieve £25 millions in five years and he hasn't done a thing with the national side since he took over in 2007. If you see the way Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Netherlands, Germany, Spain etc plays, England are many steps below. And he can't blame he set of players he can choose from.

Chile has no offensive power. 2-0 Seems to be the end for Chile to be honest  They're doing very weird choices when they attack, they hardly use their wings and it ends up in nothing. Predicting more goals for Brazil.
Chile do have offensive power but no finish. You have to give Brazil's defence credit facing the most attacking side in the competition, thought their defence were fantastic.

Erm. He has done something in the qualifiers. Don't you forget, England didn't qualify for Euro 2008 and at least his team were very convincing in the qualifiers for the WC doing the double over Croatia.

I think its to do with the players. Most of them are over-rated. They have no squad depth and the team is technically poor. They are a 2nd tier team in my eyes.

Oh and Capello has been there 2 years not 5 :)

Exactly. Our team was in a poor state after failing to qualify for Euro 2008. Capello did well to get us through qualification impressively, and we even beat Germany in Berlin with an under-strength side in a friendly and drew with the Netherlands. Beating Croatia 5-1 and 4-1 is quite impressive. But yes, he couldn't get England through the World Cup when it mattered, but as Zakaria says, it's more to do with the players. They never play like they do for their clubs and play poorly together. They are nothing like Brazil, Spain or Argentina.

Capello has a great record and even though he does get paid alot, I don't think it's his fault that we exited the competition early. He'll learn from this and hopefully we'll have some new names ahead of the Euro 2012 qualifiers.

I wouldn't sack him but if he does go, Harry Redknapp or Roy Hodgson would be decent. We should stick to English managers after Capello.

Almost every single player in your line-up are keyplayers in big clubs, but on the national side they have no motivation. Who's responsibility is that?

England did well in the qualifiers, but its in a World Cup or in a European Championship you see your level. You don't care about your school tests if you fail in the exams.

And Capello has a five year contract, 2007-2012 :)

We don't play fast enough. We seriously don't. Our tempo is slow, and has been for years. We play boring football, and seem to have very little threat up front. Now, our defence is shaky! Plus, we defeated Croatia in the qualifiers. Lets be honest, we don't want our team to be worred by Croatia at all, we want them on the same level as Germany, Netherlands and Brazil!

Marius. They may be key players but that doesn't mean that as a team they play well. Each CM in England is of the same type. Rooney and Lampard may be key for BRITISH clubs but they are surrounded by players with a bit of flair at their clubs. A midfield of Lampards and Gerrards doesn't create a variety of play and it becomes predictable as seen by the England team. They are engines in their clubs but engines alone are nothing without the parts. England lack intelligence and technique in their play, this is the main problem.

It's Capello's job to make them be able to play with each other. Just because they failed now, it doesn't mean that no-one can find the key. I refuse to believe that.

Although, to defend Capello a little, it is a problem that your three main offensive playrs plays in different, rivaling clubs. However, I think Lampard and Gerrard did well together against USA. You could clearly see them having an eye on each other. When Gerrard took an offensive initiative, Lampard covered the defensive bit of the central midfield.

If they can't play with each other, then Capello needs to have balls to put one of them on the bench anyway. His job is to make a team, not just pick the 11 best players. It's not as easy as I might make it sound like it is, but Capello is hired to do it. And I think he failed.

I don't think you have grasped what I'm trying to say. Gerrard, Lampard and Barry are all samey to me. They get you goals and work hard but they contribute nothing in terms of intelligence and technique. Hence, they are too predictable as a unit. England need a flair player to make everything work.

Paraguay-Japan was a total bore. Doing the washing up was more exciting than that. Congrats to Paraguay though who have reached their first ever quarter-final. Hopefully Spain-Portugal will be more exciting than that - it should be!
