Paraguay has only one won game and they're in the last 8 :lol:

Spain-Portugal should be a good game, but after the dissapointing Brazil-Portugal match I don't want to expect too much. I know this is a different game and there will be tense, but it might not be entertaining.

No goals yet today :lol: Portugal defending well and they have had the biggest chance of the first half. New exit for Spain in the last 16?

Spain did well I thought, especially in the second half. Great passing for Villa's goal, although there was a suspicion of offside. They kept the ball afterwards, as they do, and Portugal rarely looked like scoring. Portugal should have used Ronaldo more, although they couldn't really get it to him. No tears from Ronaldo at the end...

What do we say about Torres? He's been quiet all tournament. Should he be dropped for the quarter-final? What about the red card? Didn't look like a red card at all - I couldn't see an elbow... :blink:

The Second Round has been completed then. Here are the quarter-final matchups:

Netherlands v Brazil
Uruguay v Ghana
Argentina v Germany
Paraguay v Spain

Looking forward to the Netherlands-Brazil and Argentina-Germany especially.

Was a boring match, Portugal defended well, but was never a threat except for the last five minutes. Spain did well in the second half, indeed. Llorente was a very good substitution! Had hardly heard of him, but he totally changed the match picture! I question the matchwinner goal for an offside, though, but I'm not really sure. Anyone?

First half was kind of boring, but once Spain got going in the second half they played really well. It's just impossible to get the ball off them. There was suspicion of offside, but maybe it was ok. Villa is amazing anyway :notworthy: Torres was totally crap, but he still has quality. He's coming back from injury after all.

Yeah that red card, WTF! Didn't matter in the end. Anyone see Ronaldo spit at the cameria after the match! :lol:

Argentina-Germany will be great, and then winner to most likely face Spain. Epic!

Indeed, how retarded :lol: FIFA will ban them for government interference now.

Remember how Sani Kaita got himself sent off against Greece and then they lost 2-1? Saw this on a BBC blog:

Kaitarism:

Kai*ta, Kai*tas, kai*ta'ed, kai*ta'ing

1. To single-handedly dash the hopes and aspirations of one's nation in the full glare of other nations;
2. To karate-kick your way out of the greatest stage/spotlight ever known to man;
3. To destroy/zap/siphon the energies of team-mates plus 140 million people through unexplainable stupidity;
4. To act foolishly, unintelligently or irrationally and IMMEDIATELY regret the action by falling on your knees.

Usage:

"Please, please, do not KAITA what we have been building for 50 years o! Oloshi!"
"I don't care what people say, I will KAITA the multi-billion dollar plan!"
"That man, you know, the hopeless, useless, visionless, KAITAing guy!"
"I was KAITAing until I met Jesus!"

:rofl:

Those rest days were boring. :| We're back though with the quarter-finals! :D

Quarter-final line-up:

Netherlands v Brazil - today
Uruguay v Ghana - today
Argentina v Germany - Saturday
Paraguay v Spain - Saturday

Can't wait for Netherlands-Brazil and Argentina-Germany. Can the Netherlands pull off a surprise? They've done the business in this World Cup without playing at their best. I'm sure we'd all love to see them play like they did at Euro 2008 against the equally attacking Brazil side. Argentina-Germany will be cool too. Argentina are surely the favourites but Germany are always great at tournaments. I know England were poor, but a 4-1 win over your rivals is a great result. Uruguay-Ghana - I can't pick a winner although I'm edging for Uruguay. Spain to surely beat Paraguay - will Torres start scoring?

Make sure you update your Fantasy Football and Predictor Challenge things. Hopefully you guys can either read or write our Global World Sport reports too :neushades:
