I'd post the NZ squad but I don't think anyone would care or know any of the players :neulol:
I'll know them :|

BTW all the big teams are selecting their squads at the moment, here's just a sample of who'll be missing: Zanetti, Cambiasso, Ronaldinho, Pato, Diego, Adriano, Nasri, Vieira, Benzema, Van Nistlerooy, Totti, Toni, Cassano...obviously some of these are justified but definitely some some big names in there.
Can't believe Zanetti and Cambiasso are missing for Argentina. Even Gutierrez of Newcastle made it instead of them :|

Ronaldinho too, he'd be a great backup for Kaka. Benzema should have been in for Gignac. Cassano never had a chance, Lippi doesn't like him. Surprising about Toni though and Totti was retired anyway so I don't know why he's being included in this list.

Pato, Diego, Nasri and van Nistelrooy indeed, surprising decisions.

BBC Sport reports for the following squads:

Brazil
Mexico
Netherlands
Spain
Slovakia
Serbia
Denmark
Portugal
Cote d'Ivoire
Cameroon
Argentina
Uruguay
United States
Italy
Switzerland
Slovenia
Honduras

I know Andrew Boyens (A Dunedin native on top of it) is in there - I shook his hand earlier this year as well when Red Bull Arena opened  Now he'll be in South Africa, class B)

@Hugh: Benzema and Nasri should've been in there, those are the only two choices taking away from yesterday's squad

Houndoras... They seem to be getting a hell of a lot of fans... They are really high on 'supporters' on facebook, and are like third online on the FiFA SA game.

Ask Nuno where Honduras is and he'll say it's a small island in Asia

That's like most people with Mauritius; They don't know where it is.

Oh, kinda off-subject, but I hope we don't see a match like this!

The list of 30 has been reduced to 24 today:

Quote:

La liste des 24

GARDIENS : Hugo Lloris (Lyon), Steve Mandanda (Marseille), Cédric Carrasso (Bordeaux)

DEFENSEURS : Bacary Sagna (Arsenal/ANG), Eric Abidal (Barcelone/ESP), William Gallas (Arsenal/ANG), Patrice Evra (Manchester United/ANG), Sébastien Squillaci (Séville/ESP), Gaël Clichy (Arsenal/ANG), Marc Planus (Bordeaux), Anthony Reveillère (Lyon).

MILIEUX DE TERRAIN : Jérémy Toulalan (Lyon), Lassana Diarra (Real Madrid/ESP), Alou Diarra (Bordeaux), Yoann Gourcuff (Bordeaux), Abou Diaby (Arsenal/ANG), Florent Malouda (Chelsea/ANG).

ATTAQUANTS : Sidney Govou (Lyon), Franck Ribéry (Bayern Munich/ALL), Thierry Henry (Barcelone/ESP), Nicolas Anelka (Chelsea/ANG), Djibril Cissé (Panathinaïkos/GRE), André-Pierre Gignac (Toulouse), Mathieu Valbuena (Marseille).

Marc Planus and Mathieu Valbuena ( ) are still there. Landreau, Fanni, Rami, M'Vila, Ben Arfa, and Briand didn't survive the cut. I can't believe Gignac is still there, but Briand was bound to get cut anyway - as well as Ben Arfa. Fanni is another weird one (especially since Domenech has included him in a the group a number of times), but Reveillere did do well with Lyon this year. If Gallas is back, expect Planus to leave.

Ballack is out of the World Cup. He missed the final in 2002 through suspension and lost in the semi-finals in 2006. Lost the Euro final in 2008 too - how unlucky.

:notworthy: Nah unlucky for him though, but I'm sure Germany will have a more than capable replacement.

But I have no sympathy for Fabio Grosso, who has been ommitted out of the Italy squad.

The pre-tournament friendlies have begun.

England beat Mexico 3-1 at Wembley earlier. It was a disappointing performance really, we didn't play well at all, especially in the first half. Mexico deserved to get something out of that game. Solid performances from players like Robert Green and definitely Ledley King. Gerrard was a disappointment and Rooney was quiet. Great goal by Glen Johnson for the third though!

Portugal 0 Cape Verde 0 :|

Poor John, Argentina 5 Canada 0. Australia 2 New Zealand 1...

Cape Verde? :| I slept through the first 55 minutes of the match as I was tired, but I seen the goals and I think if we can play like that we've got some sort of chance to win.

Portugal 0 Cape Verde 0 :|

I saw King's goal in the England friendly, good comeback for him considering all the injuries :neutie: I'm sure if Ochoa was in goal and not that fat guy, the score would've been closer :|

France will play Costa Rica on Wednesday (the day I'm off actually  ). It looks like Domenech will try a 4-3-3 instead of the usual 4-2-3-1, this should be interesting.
