Togo has changed their mind and will take part in the ACN! Didn't see that coming!
Adebayor has now said Togo will go home as the government has asked them too. Make your mind up, Togo. Play in memory of those who died.

FIFA said they will impose a 4 year ban from all competitions on Togo if they don't play on. Fucking disgrace, 3 players die on your team and your government tell you to pull out but FIFA are more worried about money. Makes me sick

If that's true then FIFA is a disgrace. A four year ban after they were shot at?

I suggest we shoot Sepp Blatter three times and then see if he change his mind.

It's official (for real this time), Togo is out of the Nations Cup despite some players wanting to remain. According to Togo's prime minister: Even though they understood the fact that the players would like to stay to honor those who died, "it would be irresponsible of the Togolese authorities to let them continue [playing]". Damn. L'EQUIPE, BBC.

The Cup has just started as well! It's currently half-time in Angola's match against Mali and the hosts are leading, 2-0, thanks to Flavio. I wanted Mali to win this match damnit :|

I agree! ^^. Surely there is a council for this sort of thing? Surely there is some sort of legal case... bringing the sport into disrepute, or something along those lines that could be used against FIFA.

It would be very awful of FIFA if they imposed a ban on Togo. It really wasn't their fault, despite some very poor handled security from both the CAF and the Angolan federation. Here's hoping this is not a precedent for the World Cup (the concerns are justified, ZZ), but there will be a much greater level of security in South Africa, and it's a much more stable country, as far as I know.

It's clearly not Toga's fault at all. Who did the shooting, for fucks sake.

After being 4-0 down, Mali managed to comeback in the second half to get a point off of Angola!!!! :eek2: :point: What a way to start the tournament! I thought Mali were finished after 4-0, Angola started to slack off though as if the match was already finished :|

Tomorrow's matches:
Ghana v Togo, Gp B, 18:30
Ivory Coast v Burkina Faso, Gp B, 16:00
Malawi v Algeria, Gp A, 13:45

3 points for Ghana then I guess...

I can't see FIFA giving a ban to Togo though, that would be harsh, especially since they were attacked by Congolese militants who clearly didn't have a clue who the hell was in that bus when they started pointing their guns  I'm sick of the political crap really, it's all stupid.

I think the Front for the Liberation of the Enclave of Cabinda (so Angolans) knew they were hitting the Togo team, Ligue.

Anyway, 4-4 after Angola were 4-0 up with 11 minutes to play?! :eek2: What an amazing start to the Cup - got to see highlights of this!
