Matchday 17: Part 1![]() Pardew's first match as Newcastle manager ended well as they beat Liverpool 3-1... Results Aston Villa 2 West Brom 1 Everton 0 Wigan 0 Fulham 0 Sunderland 0 Newcastle 3 Liverpool 1 Stoke 0 Blackpool 1 West Ham 1 Manchester City 3 Table Table Arsenal lead the table but are level on points with Manchester City. Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham all play tomorrow though... Next Fixtures Sunday Bolton v Blackburn, 13:30 Wolves v Birmingham, 13:30 Tottenham v Chelsea, 16:00 Monday Manchester United v Arsenal, 20:00 Saturday 18th December Sunderland v Bolton, 12:45 Arsenal v Stoke, 15:00 Birmingham v Newcastle, 15:00 Blackburn v West Ham, 15:00 Wigan v Aston Villa, 15:00 Liverpool v Fulham, 17:30 Sunday 19th December West Brom v Wolves, 12:00 Blackpool v Tottenham, 13:30 Chelsea v Manchester United, 16:00 Monday 20th December Manchester City v Everton, 20:00 ...and finally Tottenham v Chelsea tomorrow! We really need a win. Perhaps having a big game will get us going again, although given recent form, we can't be favourites! It should be a close game, but I'm not predicting it! Hopefully Lampard's back...

Didn't think of it actually, even though I posted the fixture! I hope it will be a draw so neither team gets a big advantage over Chelsea Carlos Tevez - Manchester City's captain and arguably most important player - has submitted a transfer request (which the club has rejected)!

Tottenham 1 Chelsea 1. Great game for the neutrals! I thought we were poor in the first half but it was a very end-to-end game. We got better with Drogba and Lampard on the pitch, with Drogba's goal perhaps being a bit fortunate. Drogba with the penalty miss though - we could have stolen three points! Like I said before, perhaps these big games will get our form back as the players will be really up for it. United next though

You'll hope for some bookings tonight then Who will miss the next match if they get booked for Scum tonight? I suppose these players will be playing carefully so that's an advantage for us as well.

So many classics between these sides. Semifinal in the Champions League, with the humilating defeat. Van Nistelrooy's late penalty miss in 2003, to start a massive fight at Old Trafford. And who can ever forget Viera and Keane in the player hall at Highbury in 2005... I'm looking forward to it, of-course, but the previous derbys turns down my expectations to this. Not only against United, but we have also lost the last derbies against Chelsea as well. Spurs a few weeks back... When did we last beat United? Nasri's show two years back? We have played like 5 games without winning them I think, cos we lost twice last season plus the semifinals in 2008/2009. |

Well not a classic, but a key win for United Not many chances for Arsenal, they still don't really know how to crack open the big teams, same old problems. Great save by the young Polish keeper on Anderson, that would have sealed the match, as would have the penalty, but that was justice that Rooney missed cause the handball wasn't fair. Vidic and Ferdinand were strong as ever. I felt Arsenal could always have snatched the equaliser but it wasn't to be. All in all, a solid performance by Man Utd. Back to the top

I remember how pumped I was when that bastard missed. Seeing Vieira and the lot getting on his back right afterwards made my day As for tonight, nothing to say really, it's just frustrating. Pass, pass, pass, but nothing to show for it at the end of the day. If only Chamakh chipped the ball instead of shooting it straight at Vidic in the second half (after Van der Sar spilled the ball), we would've been back in it. Then Rooney's PK miss, another reason to keep pushing and get the equalizer, but that wasn't to be sadly.. That penalty was retarded though, the ball hit Clichy's hand, not the other way around. I could've sworn the linesman was from Manchester, that cunt. |

Fucking useless referee, booking ONLY Arsenal players in such a rough game... Rooney and others kept yelling at ref without getting the yellow. Idiot. But I'm not blaming him for the loss, we were totally useless. If we are supposed to win the league, we need help from the others to beat the big teams

Liverpool-Fulham and Wigan-Aston Villa have been called off. Chelsea-Manchester United tomorrow then! Not sure how much of it I will see as I'll be coming back home from London for the holidays and busy in the evening I kind of hope the snow postpones it Anyway - we need a win. We showed signs of our form returning against Tottenham, and like I said before, perhaps these big games will get our form back. This really is one of the biggest games of the season for us and we need to beat them if we want to win the league, otherwise they'll pull ahead. I'm predicting a draw, obviously Come on Drogba, get back on form. Lampard to start as well apparently, yes!
