Who do you think should get them?

2018 possible hosters:
Belgium and Netherlands
England
Portugal and Spain
Russia

Big corruption scandal currently going on, which might have ruined for England. Can football come home again? Interesting rivals for three Lions. Russia would be cool!

2022 possible hosters:
Australia
Japan
South Korea
Qatar
U.S.A

Hoping for Australia, even though that's not much of a football nation. The FIFA WC drawned in USA, people who were there never felt that it was a WC. Japan and Korea only "just" had a WC tbh. Qatar? Really?

To be annonced in three days!

I must say I haven't been this nervous since...well the World Cup, but really, I know Australia have a realistic chance of getting it. I can't wait till Thursday, it seems like I've been waiting ages for the decision but its come quickly.

I don't want to be biased but I can't see any possible reasons why another candidate should host it above Australia. Ok the USA, for commercial reasons, but that would be the easy way out for FIFA. Oceania is the last fronteir for FIFA. Hopefully an Oceania representative gets let back in for the ballot cause he is Australia's only assured vote. Japan and Korea have little to no chance. Qatar is total bullshit, their country is tiny so it's practically one city holding the whole tournament, its 50 degrees, they have strict alcohol laws and absolutely no football culture, just oil money. You know FIFA is corrupt if they give it to Qatar. Australia has all bases covered, good new stadiums promised, links with Asia, no security risks, track record of hosting good events. I fear the USA getting it but Australia should, i pray to god.

2018 is riddled with corruption. Spain/Portugal look to be the favourites cause they'll get all the South American votes, plus Asia's cause they did a vote swap with Qatar. But honestly, there's no way they should get it. Spain and Portugal are totally fucked economically and it would be terrible for them to get the tournament. England could host it tomorrow, which again would be an easy way out for FIFA. Also some hint of corruption with their bid? Netherlands/Belgium, meh. I personally would like Russia to get it, would be a cool place to host it and they have the money.

As long as they play on real pitches and not that plastic bubble wrap shit, I'll be alright with Russia :neutie: The climate on the other hand, meh. I can see England getting it, knowing FIFA.

As for 2022, it'd be nice if USA could get it but then again, I'll be in France by then, so :| (I could always come back on vacation though, if the WC did happen here :neushades: Imagine France playing at Red Bull Arena, I'd go mad :neuwine: ). Australia would be nice though indeed! Qatar seems too fake for me - I bet they'll raise the prices there too (sheikh-like prices).

Well knowing FIFA, they won't give it to us since our media has been causing/highlighting scandals and have now highlighed three FIFA officials who took bribes in the 1990s. I fear our media has ruined our bid, which is a shame as we're ready to host the World Cup finals. I'm not being biased either and I think most people agree that we have a strong bid.

If we don't win then I don't really mind who wins. All the other hosts would be interesting (for me personally at least).

I definitely want Australia to win the 2022 bid, and I totally agree with Hugh's comments about the 2022 battle.

The winner is announced when I'm at Uni, so Marius, text me the results please! :P

You'll hear it if England wins. All of London will go crazy! What stadiums is included be in England's bid by the way?

Wembley and Emirates from London for sure. Old Trafford, St.James Park... Villa Park? Liverpool's new stadium for sure. City of Manchester I suppose. I think 8 stadiums are needed, will Millenium stadium be used? Stamford Bridge is too small yet. Twickenham can be used for football? :P

A lot of new stadiums being build in England I see. Is this settled or depending if you get the WCs or not?

I must admit, after seeing every nation's bid, I'm more open for Qatar. Like ligue says, I don't want to award the sheiks, but it would be interesting. All the stadiums are cool and the issue with the warm climate is no problem as all the stadiums will cover it. Also, drinking etc will be allowed at certain areas during the tournament.

However, I still stand behind Australia. I've backed their bid at this one since the start. England and Australia favourites, could be a big day for the forums! 2018 and 2022 meet-ups, anyone? :P

I'm not sure about Bristol City or Nottingham Forest's stadiums. The development of White Hart Lane is still at the talking stage I believe and isn't depending on whether or not we get the World Cup finals. No decision has been made on the Olympic Stadium either - when we won the Olympics for 2012, they said they'd turn it into an athletics stadium after and reduce the capacity, but now football teams (and Essex cricket team) are interested - so no decision has been made on that.

Come on England and Australia

Qatar cannot simply air condition a whole country. A world cup is not just about the players, its about the fans and cramming millions of people into a tiny hot country cannot work. Not to mention people want to celebrate partying, drinking, they cannot expect everyone to just go into these 'designated drinking areas'. Despite the fact it would be such a forced/fake atmosphere, imagine they prices they could set for a drink.

I'm not sure Australia are favourites. Maybe the sentimental favourites with you guys ( B) ) but FIFA works in mysterious ways. They just commissioned an auditing report about the profitability/commerciality of the bidders and only England and USA got 100%:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-11-30/u-s-england-are-only-world-cup-bids-to-meet-fifa-sales-goals-study-says.html

I don't really trust how they came up with these figures, but it's not really a surprise. I'm fearing the worst now... :(

Why would England make more pitches? If they can use League one stadiums like Home Park?

L'EQUIPE on tomorrow's decision (with presentations of each bid):

England to get it IMO :|

Today's the day then! Quite nervous about it actually, but we just put on an excellent presentation (you'll think I'm biased but I don't think it was bad  ) so I'm more confident about our chances.

I hope for England and Australia, but I get the feeling it will be either Russia or Spain/Portugal and Australia or USA.

I saw Australia's presentation, it wasn't amazing but it was ok, showcased our country well.

I'm so nervous right now. I think the FIFA committee is voting as i write, so we'll know in about 90 minutes...
