Against the quality of bowler you faced (with the exception of TenDo) the fact that between overs 10 and 45 you refused to really play any attacking shots was deeply disappointing.England would've saved more face had they been a lot more expansive, as it was apart from Bopara's little flurry at the end, England risked batting themselves out of the game,by being too circumspect and once finding ways to get themselves out. And to be brutally honest on this showing i fully expect India to annihilate you on Sunday.

The one thing this match shows though, is this group is MUCH better than group A.

Netherlands seem quite decent in places, Kenya are dire these days, they never won a game in world cricket league against the likes of scotland, canada, netherlands.
Zimbabwe are clearly behind bangladesh, especially given it's in the SC.
Canada are just a jobbing associate whereas Ireland are picking up aspirations of test status.

Imran Tahir has taken 4-41 for South Africa! He was great for Hampshire two years ago and rarely gets mentioned - I think he's a great bowler and maybe now people will take notice. I believe he's coming back to Hampshire for next season too! B)

The West Indies have just collapsed. 113-1 to 213-9. Great bowling from Tahir and Steyn. South Africa to win it.

That collapse was horrible but it happens to every team I think, Chris. West Indies looked in control for long periods in their innings, only to lose wickets against the run of play (both Bravos). Imran Tahir looked a serviceable spinner, but his bigger tests will come against more consistent batting lineups, imo.

I don't know about Pollard tbh, he seems to perform only for T20 franchises. His international record in any format is pathetic. :ohdear Maybe it has to do with facing world class bowling consistently, which is something you don't get playing at club/domestic level. :neuthink: I would say that he's going the way of Afridi, but Afridi's a case of potential never being realized, whereas I'm not so sure Pollard has potential at all.

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 11 runs! Pakistan seem to have been underestimated before the tournament - I think they should be considered title challengers now! Pakistan's bowlers did well to limit Sri Lanka for ages before they seemed to have got the run-rate up towards the end. Sri Lanka batted too slowly in their innings.

The big match is later today though with India-England! India will win. Can't see us pulling off a surprise to be honest.
