Bah, we lost by 10 wickets! We batted too slowly at the start but our final total seemed around average. Sri Lanka's batsmen were class though. Our bowlers seemed to have no ideas. At least our players get a break now! A shame to see them exit the World Cup though, but the long tour has been quite successful with the Ashes win. Now they can rest! Still on for an India-Sri Lanka final! |

Well it's not, but I'm trying to see the good points of being knocked out  Ponting's resigned as Australian captain. Thoughts? He was great for Australia I thought. Is he really to blame for the Ashes and World Cup defeats though? Australia is a changing team - they can't be expected to keep performing like they did with the 3 World Cups in a row... Sri Lanka v New Zealand - the first semi-final - is on now

India will play Sri Lanka in the final then! India's 260 seemed like a par score to me. Pakistan started off well but kept losing wickets. Misbah was a bit slow with his batting wasn't he!? Shahid Afridi failed with the bat again. I wish I was in India for the celebrations, it must be epic over there! Supporting Sri Lanka for the final. I'll stick with my India prediction though... |

Ponting's a great cricketer but never really got much respect as captain. he inherited one of the greatest teams of all time and that's where the success came from. The team is crap now, and he's payed for it. Clarke won't be any better as captain. Gotta be India for the final then hasn't it? Just seems like their time. |

So, the tournament comes to an end tomorrow then! I thought it would be long, but it hasn't felt that long really! Obviously it's a shame that England aren't in the final, but I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Apart from my prediction being right , I think it will be a good final. India on home territory and with those fans, against a great Sri Lankan side who I think could win it. I know a girl who has gone to Mumbai for it, amazing! |

India have won the World Cup! Great match, I have to say! I watched it with loads of Sri Lankans and as the game went on, more Indians arrived too - amazing atmosphere for every four, six and wicket! Sri Lanka batted too slowly at the start but eventually they got 274 - a good score I thought. India batted well though, always keeping to the run rate, and held on to win. A deserved victory! |
