Good news! Norway have won UEFA's Fair Play Award! ...again! We always seem to win this, and I think it's deserved and great that we get awarded! I'm not saying we're the best, but we're definitely one of the best ones. Lack of cards in our league, national teams and our teams in Europe have settled it, as well as positive play, respect for referees and opponents and the fans's behaviour. Norway will then get a 5th European Cup spot which goes to.... Aalesund! Amazing! The club who two years ago never had done more than saving the spot have now: - Won the cup (November 2009) - Finished top 5 for the first time (2010) - Made their debut in Europe (1-1 and 0-3 v Motherwell in 2010) - Started off a new season nicely and ready for Europe again! Orange domination, eh Norway will have the following sides in Europe next season then: Rosenborg (Champions League) Strømsgodset (Europa League) - Cup winners Vålerenga (Europa League) Tromsø (Europa League) Aalesund (Europa League) Great. Hopefully Vålerenga won't draw Kjelsås then. |

Kamma should have been there too. Pffft. Rubbish side! ![]() Bad news ![]() The season is over for Michael Kleppe Jamtfall (Rosenborg) who got a new injury in the match against Verdal. Aaaah, come on! I'm not very sorry for Rosenborg, I'm sorry for Jamtfall! What an unlucky player! This summer it's allready been five years since he scored his first goal for the club, as a 19 year old. I remember how he came on against Lillestrøm, to go past the keeper to score our 2-0 in that match, one of my first coverages for Global World Sport. A head of 2007, he had big dreams. I remember the sport news reportage where he sat at Lerkendal saying "this autumn...we'll qualify for the Champions League and I'll score the winning goal against Manchester United". High hopes for a young player, who got injured, never came back and forgotten. After some years in lower divisions, he did well for Ranheim at level 2 in the first half of 2010. So well that he got the chance when the autumn came to Trondheim again. And the 12th of September 2010, he got the chance in the bad homegame against Viking - and scored. Four years after his first, he finally scored again. Iversen and Prica held him out of the team, though, but he has done well since. Scoring against Vålerenga a few weeks back (I've actually seen all his three goals live) made a new hope he'd shine, but this injury stops that dream again. Oooh! He was on form now, and finally seemed to be back! Some players just don't have the luck, have they. Come back, Jamtfall! We'll support you anyway! |

Indeed, we should go there and watch them some day, eh! Lost 1-2 to Nesodden today I only saw the final ten minutes, though, but it was a shame. Played with ten players I saw, but they deserved a 2-2 goal, did really well. Frustarted over the missed chances, one of the players kicked the ball high up in the air after fouling - got booked I love these smaller games, you can actually hear the players. A Tiller player laid down after hitting Nesodden's keeper. He went to the Tiller player and told him to get up and stop crying. "Shut up, you scumbag" he answered, and the crowd cheered! In other news: Klanen are no glory hunters. After the latest bad results for Vålerenga (1 point from the 4 last games and early cup exit), Klanen showed up on the club's last training before they go to Fredrikstad on the 16th of May. With flares and tifo, they sang and cheered on their side to show their support. Fantastic supporter culture! Wouldn't see this in England, eh?

Marius's corner: Not very neutral ![]() Just ginger 16th of May folks! The biggest round of the year and always a date with well visited arenas. Packed crowds and party mood over the entire Norway! For many many years there have been a tradition to fixture a complete round the day before our national day. I don't know why it became so popular actually! I guess it's like the Boxing day in England. I have a tight schedule tommorrow, so I better not forget it! I'll work with an article all day, and the match starts at 6, so! Well! ![]() This is only my second 16th of May game, my first was in 2008 (v Lillestrøm 4-0). And this is also the 6th league game I'm going to - in a row Haven't missed a league game, home or away, since 20th of March! We better get a party tommorrow, I miss winning by a lot of goals. Not since September 2005, Rosenborg have scored five goals in a league game! That makes it 148 games! I think we can score many tommorrow, Haugesund have conceded a lot, 3-4 last weekend, and 5-0 the weekend before. We also beat them 4-3 last year, when Iversen missed a final minute penalty. The last time we lost at 16th of May was in 2005, 0-2 to Viking, who comes from the same area as Haugesund. Wouldn't surprise me if we lost either, we're not exactly king of the road because we've won two in a row. And it's Norwegian football... Important week upcoming, three games in a week. If we win those - we'll climb a lot! But tommorrow it's not only important to win, but to entertain. Full crowd - come on! This better be good! |

What about the other games? League leader Godset going to Ålesund to play a side that hasn't lost in four games. Two teams in good form. Brann takes on Start in Bergen - better be a great and open match in the 16th of May fest! Lillestrøm-Molde. Two scumbag teams, eh. LSK have started so well, Molde have been up and down... Stabæk to trash Sogndal in Telenor Arena or will the visitors shock and take their first win? Tromsø huge, maybe too huge, favourites at home to Sarpsborg. TIL have won all three at home so far, Sarpsborg have lost all away from home... Two pressured teams meets up: Viking - Odd. At 8: Vålerenga goes to Fredrikstad, very important game for the visitors... My predictions: Aalesund - Godset 1-1 Brann - Start 2-2 Lillestrøm - Molde 1-1 Rosenborg - Haugesund 6-1 Stabæk - Sogndal 2-0 Tromsø - Sarpsborg 1-0 Viking - Odd Grenland 4-0 Fredrikstad - Vålerenga 1-1 |
