Their scores haven't been that bad, but several players have wanted a new coach for a long time. Before the season, Start offered a new contract, with less salary! The former Rosenborg manager rejected, so this was always going to be his last season. This happends only five hours before Start's cup match against Strømsgodset at home. Assistant Frode Fredriksen will lead the yellows and black tonight then. - We all respect his deccission, says Start's top scorer Ole Martin Årst. Leader of Start, Sveinung Hovstad, says this: - Knut Tørum has done a good job for IK Start in the period he has been here. He has added knowledge and valuable skills for the club and for the players, which forms a good starting period to bring the club through. Both sides wishes each other good luck. - This solution is the best for both him and us. The players haven't had the confidence in him - it's sad, but true, says Terje Roland - the leader of IK Start's supporter club. Hønefoss took the lead after just a minute on the field! Weak keeper apparently. Alta leading against Tromsø too! Haugesund seemed to be walking on to a new victory against Viking, but the blue ones are back into the match! Start leads too! Impressive after everything that has happened today. Brann wins the penalty shoot-out 3-2! Quite a few horrible penalties there! Sogndal missed their first, Brann missed their second, both missed their third! Sogndal missed their fourth too, only to complete the disaster. Teams through then: Aalesunds FK Alta IF SK Brann Fredrikstad FK Molde FK IK Start Viking FK Rosenborg 1-0 Lillestrøm, the fight for the eight spot! Come on, Rosenborg! |

Ujah missed an amazing chance earlier, but now it stands 1-1! Sigurdarson, back from the U21 Euros, to make it 1-1. Rounded Örlund and put the ball in the open nets... Ah. |

Full time in Trondheim, scoreline is 1-1. Trond Olsen missed an AMAZING chance, only had to put the ball in the open nets. But unlike what he did in the league match against Lillestrøm at home, where he scored an own-goal, he couldn't get the ball under the bar. Quite open game! I don't have a good time at the moment! |

Off to penalties....omg....what a thriller this is... Prica Lustig Dorsin Winsnes Olsen I suppose... It's up to the luck now. Up to God. Up to karma. Up to the faith... It's now or never. We haven't won a penalty shoot-out in ages. Well, one in copa del Sol earlier this year, but in real games... nope. Exit in Kristiansund 2008, Hødd 2001... Come on. Go forward and do your jobs...

JAAAAAAAAAAAAA! 4-1 AFTER PENALTIES! WHAT A SHOOT-OUT! Prica started it, then Örlund saved Nosa's penalty! Lustig, easy easy, then Örlund saved again! A horrible shot by Pedersen there! Olsen then put pressure on Ujah, who was LSK's only bright point of the shoot-out. Winsnes finished the night with a great penalty! |

Wow, sounded like an entertaining game at Lerkendal! A penalty shoot-out win, oy! Alta beat Tromso, hahahaha!  Tørum has left!?  I didn't expect that! I thought he was decent and Start aren't doing that badly!
