Viking - Vålerenga 0-2 0-1, Håvard Nilsen (27) 0-2, Bojan Zajic (90) Goals to be put up when they're avialable on youtube! Kick-off day! ![]() Yeah, I know we're already started but this feels like the kick-off day. Not because Rosenborg are playing (well, that too), but also - this is the main part of the round. Brann - Rosenborg to be kicked off at 8pm my time, the rest of the games starts at 6. Here are the first games: Tromsø - Haugesund Stabæk - Lillestrøm Strømsgodset - Sogndal Odd Grenland - Start Tromsø are huge favourites against Haugesund, Godset are great at home - should be difficult for Sogndal. The others are open games. Should be good, this! I predict: Tromsø 1-0 Stabæk 1-1 Strømsgodset 3-1 Odd 2-2

Chris jinxed it so bad! Damn you! Haha, what an amazing run. 33 League games (beating the old record of 32 games from 1997 to 1998) without defeat...Having not lost since October 2009 (2-3 at home for Start). Annoying that we lost that really, could have been 60. One defeat in 2009, nill in 2010. Starting with a defeat in 2011! Must look bad for our new manager The record 30 away games without defeat was also stoped. October 2008 was the last time we lost away! October 2008!Lillestrøm's win was amazing...7-0 away from home! It's always shocking to see huge wins, but in a match like that too! The only result I can remember more shocking must be Man Utd's 7-1 against Roma in the Champions League. Stabæk were actually not so bad, but LSK were effective. Anthony Ujah's four goals too. Pure class. Matchday report to be put up when all games are played Defeated.

Aalesund and Fredrikstad to complete the round tonight then. Drew 1-1 in their last meeting, in July 2009 (Chris and I saw that match on TV!) Going out later, should buy a VG to see the headline. Wonder what's the big talkie today - Lillestrøm's 7-0 or Rosenborg's defeat... 33 Games unbeaten and 30 awaygames unbeaten. Not bad! Damn you, Brann

Round 1![]() Too good for Norway: Nigerian Anthony Ujah (20) scored four and had one assist when Lillestrøm won the biggest win in an opener since 1955. Massive wins, a recordrow getting stoped and Solskjær getting raped. The first round of the season showed that this season is unpredictable. Stabæk lost 7-0 at home to Lillestrøm in the opener, the match that was supposed to prove the crisis in LSK. Instead, the away team really proved talent and sent the hot potato to Stabæk. Ujah was the big hero. He was considered as a talent last year too, and Mallorca was so close to catch him this winter. I don't think he will stay for longer than till July or August. But everything hasn't been so easy. Two weeks ago, he was placed on the bench after baking manager Henning Berg on facebook! Ujah said he was sad because one of his Nigerian teammates was on the bench, and then some guy (non-player) said that Berg was a dirtbag. Ujah clicked "like" and then the hell had started... What a fool! But what a talent. Norwegian commenators were all about the facebook situation, TV2 even said in their post-match report that "Ujah must get a lot of facebook requests after this match"...
Stabæk, runner-ups from 2007, title winners in 2008 and bronze in 2009 - failed in 2010 and 2011 does not seem to be bright. But, like Stabæk's owner Ingebrigt Steen-Jensen pointed out: "Real Madrid lost 0-5 to Barcelona in December. They haven't lost since"... Not only Stabæk is crying after the first round. Defending champions Rosenborg got their record 33 games in a row without defeat stoped in Bergen. 835 after losing 2-3 at home to Start, they lost 2-1 in Bergen. Brann, who has been predicted to relegate by me and other newspapers, shocked Norway by beating the team who had one defeat in the previous 60 league games. Manager Rune Skarsfjord showed the VG paper where Brann was predicted 15th before they walked on the pitch, to make the players mad and ready for fight. It worked. Kim Ojo, bought from the division below, scored the leadergoal after 10 minutes. Right back Bjørnar Holmvik, who had a bad season last year, doubled their advantage after Ojo ran past Örlund, who acted like Almunia for a second. Other than the goal, Brann hit the bar three times as well! Total ownage! Rosenborg's bright side was that Mushaga Bakenga got his first goal. He will definitely get his break-through in 2011. The atmosphere in Bergen must have been great. After 2-0 they sang "we're gonna win the league", "Rosenborg for relegation" and "Ojojojojojojojojojojo", for their new star - Kim Ojo. Congratulations, Bergen!
Brann fan and TV2 reporter Davy Wathne on twitter, after Bakenga's 2-1. ![]() Even more interesting: The second round puts Lillestrøm and Brann up together, while Stabæk have to play...Rosenborg away! That will definitely be a special one for our new manager Jan Jönsson. His first match at home will be against Stabæk, that he coached from 2005 to 2010. Start proved their quality as well, beating Odd 2-0 away from home. That was a special match for Start's defender Jesper Mathisen, who played his first game for his recent dead father - Svein Mathisen - who played over 600 games for Start in the 70's and 80's. A one minute silence for Japan before the match was partly done for Mathisen too, eh. Not surprisingly, Tromsø beat Haugesund 2-0 at home. 38 year old Sigurd Rushfeld scored the second, a gift from Haugesund's defence. He is now four goals from getting the all-time topscorer record from Harald Martin Brattbakk. Can he get it? Losing 7-0 at HOME is ridiculous. Stabaek aren't as good as they were, clearly, but that's a shocking result ![]() Rosenborg's run had to end at some point too. Home to Stabaek next though - winnable Stabaek will want to play well after that 7-0 defeat though...

Round 1 scores: Sarpsborg08 - Molde 3-0 Viking - Vålerenga 0-2 Strømsgodset - Sogndal 2-1 Tromsø - Haugesund 2-0 Odd Grenland - Start 0-2 Stabæk - Lillestrøm 0-7 Brann - Rosenborg 2-1 Aalesund - Fredrikstad 1-2 Team of the round: GK - Kenneth Høie (Start) RB - Jo Nymo Matland (Sarpsborg) CB - Ole Christoffer Heieren Hansen (Sarpsborg) CB - Kjetil Berge (Sarpsborg) LB - Joakim Våge Nilsen (Haugesund) RW - Olufemi Oladapo (Start) CM - Fredrik Nordkvelle (Strømsgodset) CM - Carl-Erik Torp (Brann) LW - Nosa Igiebor (Lillestrøm) FW - Anthony Ujah (Lillestrøm) FW - Kim Ojo (Brann) Player of the round: Anthony Ujah (10 points) Top scorer: Anthony Ujah, Lillestrøm, 4 goals Nosa Igiebor, Lillestrøm, 2 goals 19 players have scored 1 goal There was scored a total 25 goals in the first round. Molde and Stabæk are shockinly enough in the relegation zone, while Sarpsborg are second. Next round: Vålerenga takes on Aalesund at Ullevaal, for one of the biggest title favourites's first homegame. Anything but a homewin here will be shocking. First awaytest for Viking, who lost at home to Vålerenga in the first round. Fredrikstad opened with a win, and will probably give Viking a tough match at home. Sogndal and Odd Grenland were two of the losing sides in the weekend. In two weeks, they are head to head in Sogndal, for the first top match there since 2004. Haugesund-Sarpsborg. A must win, surely, for the homeside. How good are Sarpsborg this time? FKH only lost once at home last season. Start-Strømsgodset. Nice win away from home for Start, Godset also started with a win... Should be good this. Molde-Tromsø. A nice match-up. Molde needs something from here, but lost 5-1 in the same match-up at La Manga. Tromsø favourites. Rosenborg-Stabæk. Two set of clubs that suffered with much talked about defeats in the first round. First homegame for Rosenborg manager Jan Jönsson, against the team he managed from 2005 to 2010. Lillestrøm-Brann. Leaders vs the team that beat Rosenborg. Sounds awesome. Match of the round:
Also see: Brann - Rosenborg 2-1 Aalesund - Fredrikstad 1-2 Viking - Vålerenga 0-2 Sarpsborg - Molde 3-0 (the opener) Tromsø - Haugesund 2-0 Strømsgodset - Sogndal 2-1 Odd Grenland - Start 0-2 Tippeligaen will now take a week of break, because some Danish wankers are coming to Oslo first. Stay tuned. 29 games left. |

Great round report, keep it up! Haha, Stabaek are sponsored by McDonalds - Alle, you're on the wrong side of Oslo! The Lillestrom strikers were lethal! There are loads of McDonalds sponsors in Brann too - what's going on!? New big sponsors of the Tippeligaen? Orlund and the Rosenborg defence sucked it seemed.Rosenborg v Stabaek next though! Rosenborg to get back to winning ways I think. |
