Hahaha, indeed, McDonalds! I thought of Alle too, but chose not to mention! ![]() One of the guys I live with here in Trondheim is from Bærum and he complains about McDonalds being their new main sponser. Apparently, what they get is only 5 NOK (£0.5) of every "Stabæk menu" they sell! That sucks. That means that they will have to sell 200.000 menus to get a million! The M on the kit looks awful too. I don't think McDonalds is a new sponser for Tippeligaen, cos there is no adverts at Lerkendal. Luckly. ![]() Örlund, yes. Been watching too much of Arsenal. Bjärsmyr is horrible too. Send him home. |

I will be surprised if they don't! But see it this way - Aalesund will come to Oslo with nothing to lose, only to defend. I guess it's easier to defend than attack at this time of the year. Pity pitches, lack of form... However, Enga won in Stavanger, they should be in good shape. I'd put my money on a homewin 7-0?

Want to share some pics to you, as that's more exciting than just text Found some good ones at the LSK fansite, the kanarifansen.no. Copyright to them then, they are great. Have linked to some of them before, I wish we had such a good photograph in our side too! Might be using their pics later too.Lillestrøm's fans celebrating 7-0 win in the Telenor Arena this. I know that when I, who fully hate them so much, can enjoy them, I'm sure you can. Lack of fans I must say, even from LSK. Lillestrøm is not so far away, so they should have filled up their area. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One minute silence for Japan ![]() ![]() Ujah vs McDonalds FC. Marius predicts![]() Tippeligaen 2011 ![]() The young Godset ![]() 18 Players in Strømsgodset's squad are less than 23 years. The defending cup champions does have a talented, but an unsecure team. About 20 minutes off Oslo, in a south direction, you find the home of Strømsgodset. Drammen. A typical American city. Their favourite food is junks, they drive old-fashion cars and they love country music. Welcome to Drammen. Strømsgodset is a boring team you might say. They have 11 players, fans and plays on grass. A4. They are neither good or bad. Their stadium is very normal and they come from a town neither ugly or nice. But Strømsgodset is much more if you discover them. History. They do have history. Did you know that Arsenal's first ever European Cup match was played in Drammen, in a 1-1 tie? And that Liverpool faced them in the last 70's? The Kop didn't travel to Norway in a nervous mood, though. Liverpool were 11-0 up from the first leg. Godsetunion is also giving their club a colour. Great fans, especially at home. Godset hardly lose at home, because of their fans. Away from home, Godset are definitely worse. I place them 9th, because I think they will be too strong for relegation battle, but ditto too weak for the medal battle. I love their offensive touch, though. Jo Inge Berget, Ola Kamara, Fredrik Nordkvelle. Come our way. They have many other talents too. I hope they do well. Squad: Goalkeepers: 1.Lars Stubhaug 12.Adam Larsen Kwarasey Defenders: 2.Glenn Andersen 3.Lars Sætra 4.Kim André Madsen 5.Krister Aunan 6.Alexander Aas Midfielders: 14.Fredrik Nordkvelle 15.Kjetil Lundebakken 16.Akeem Latifu 18.Mads Ryghseter 19.Gustav Medonca Wikheim 20.Mohammed Abu 22.André Hanssen 23.Anders Ågnes Konradsen 26.Lars Christopher Vilsvik 27.Alfred Sankoh Forwards: 7.Muhammed Keita 8.Stefan Johansen 9.Øyvind Storflor 10.Jo Inge Berget 11.Ola Kamara 17.Colin Nkee 21.Eirik Markegård Full name: Strømsgodset Idrettsforening Nickname: Godset Formed: 10th of February Located: Drammen Homeground: Marienlyst Capacity: 7,544 2010: 7th in Tippeligaen The Manager ![]() Ronny Deila A living legend in Odd Grenland, where he played for 11 seasons. Finished his career in Godset where he now is manager. Has already won the cup with them, and he seems to be quite a manager talent. Birthday: September 21, 1975 (age 35) Played for: Urædd (1992), Odd Grenland (1993-04), Viking (2005), Strømsgodset (2006-08) Managed: Brodd (2005) Finally...a video Godsetunionen singing Gamle Gress, their national anthem. I think you're right about them being an "A4 team", they're meh to me - I don't know much about them (until now) and they don't challenge for honours in the league (but won the Cup!). Midtable could be good prediction. Didn't we see the floodlights of Marienlyst when I first arrived in Norway? |

Marius predicts![]() Tippeligaen 2011 ![]() What goes up... ![]() Three years ago, it looked like Stabæk was taking over the possition as Rosenborg's rivals. Now it doesn't look good. It started in 1990. Stabæk was a little club at level 4, with no history. They played at a piece of grass, and the few spectators that was borthered so see them play, was standing on concrete, on the sideline. But in 1990, an incredible adventure started. After promoting to level 3, the club spent three years to advance to the next level. The goal for the season at level 2 was clear: To save the spot. Stabæk promoted again. 1995, Five years after playing at level 4, Stabæk were in the top division for the first time. They come from a place just outside Oslo, with rich people and and a lot of innhabitans, but this was the first time Stabæk were top leveled. Nadderud got a stand, not a nice one, but it was a start. Between 1995 and 2003, the club developed, achieved historical records and got a respectable name in Norwegian football. Winning the cup in 1998, 3-1 against Rosenborg in the final, Europe in 1999, where they even beat the mighty Deportivo La Coruña. In 2001 they won the club's first ever medals, which sent them to a new UEFA-cup adventure. Once again, they got to beat a big club - Anderlecht. Stabæk finished the great era with a new medal in 2003, finishing third. Ingebrigt Steen-Jensen, mr.Stabæk, is one of the greatest personalties in Norwegian football. He is a millionare from Bærum, a sucsessfull commercial guru. He has spit money into the club for many years, and been Stabæk's face in the media. When Stabæk beat Rosenborg in the 1998 Cup Final, the cameras kept focusing on him in the stands, where he waited for the final whistle. In 2001, Stabæk trashed RBK 3-0 at home, and then he celebrated with the players in the dressing room - bare-chested. Steen-Jensen had big plans for Stabæk in the beginning of this century. When the millenium started, he said that Stabæk was going to play semifinals of the Champions League in 2005, at the new Blue Dream Arena. Ambitions! ![]() Mr.Stabæk, Ingebrigt Steen-Jensen. But it didn't go that well. Stabæk relegated in 2004, and was playing at level 2 in Norway. And Blue Dream Arena? No, still kicking ball at Nadderud. However, 2005 was the beginning of the new era. While everyone was laughing, Stabæk raised a new mighty side at level 2. Their keyplayer Veigar Pall Gunnarson, Icelandic international, stayed. The club also bought an unknown, Swedish striker from China. His name was Daniel Nannskog and he is now the club's all time top scorer. They also brought a Swedish manager called Jan Jönsson, who was going to achieve new hights for Stabæk. They promoted, and they impressed allready in their comeback season. In spite of finishing "only" 6th, Pall Gunnarson and Nannskog dominated the top scorer statistics, assist statistics. Stabæk scored 53 goals - more than any other team. 37 of these goals was scored by Nannskog/Gunnarson. It's not weird that media was using words like telepathy to describe the duo! ![]() Stabæk legend: Daniel Nannskog Bringing in the Brazilian artist Alanzinho, Stabæk continued the raising of a new pride, and silver in 2007 was followed by Stabæk's first ever league title in 2008. Totally outstanding. They almost took the cup as well, but they got trashed in the final. Alanzinho then left, and 2009 resulted in a new 3rd place, in their first season at their new arena in Fornebu - Telenor Arena. Last season was pity for Stabæk, who early knew that Jönsson would leave for Rosenborg, while Nannskog struggled with injuries. Suddenly, there was only now and then that Stabæk were mighty. Jönsson was blamed, but they obviously missed Nannskog. With Jönsson and Nannskog (retired) out of the club now, I expect a downhill for Stabæk. But I really hope not. I like their recent history, and how they suddenly promoted to the top league. They have played beautiful football and made some trouble for us. I also like their kits A shame they play indoor... Don't know why they built it that way.A few decent players in today's side, though. Keeper Jon Knudsen plays for Norway, and Morten Skjønsberg is one of the best defenders in the league. Must mention the talented Vegar Hedenstad too, who went to my math class at college Henning Hauger plays for Norway, Pontus Farnerud, great Swede that was wanted by Rosenborg. Don't see any typical goalscorers here, other than Veigar Pall Gunnarson. ![]() Born in June 1991, in Elverum. No, it's not me, it's Hedenstad! Squad: Goalkeepers: 1.Jon Knudsen 22.Jan Kjell Larsen Defenders: 2.Bjarni Ólafur Eiriksson 5.Jørgen Hammer 15.Morten Morisbak Skjønsberg 23.Vegar Eggen Hedenstad 29.Haris Skenderovic Midfielders: 7.Henning Hauger 8.Alain Junior Ollé Ollé ![]() 13.Palmi Rafn Palmason 16.Tor Marius Gromstad 17.Pontus Farnerud 19.Johan Andersson 21.Mikkel Mix Diskerud 24.Jørgen Skjelvik 25.Erik Benjaminsen Forwards: 9.Gilles M'bang Ondo 10.Veigar Pall Gunnarson 27.Torstein Andersen Aase Full name: Stabæk Fotball Nickname: De blaa (The Blue) Formed: March 16, 1912 Located: Bærum Homeground: Telenor Arena Capacity: 15,600 2010: 12th in Tippeligaen The Manager ![]() Jörgen Lennartsson Used to coach the Swedish U21. Stabaek! I've liked them since we saw them in the Champions League. Nice team. I think they'll do much better this season after last season's failure. Having said that, Jonsson's gone and they lost 7-0 at home in their first match! Great history piece there, Marius. 1 minute 40 in the video - they kept showing her inside the stadium before the game! She's back! Do you remember being played as we went in?

Marius predicts![]() Tippeligaen 2011 ![]() Odd's new superstar? ![]() If Odd Grenland are supposed to reach their goal in taking medals, these two must do his job properly. 4th in 2009, 5th in 2010. They have lost in the semifinal stage of the cup EVERY year since 2007. Odd Grenland is Norway's "almost team". Odd Grenland was formed back in the 19th century - the oldest club in Norway. They were the first dominating team in Norwegian football, and even inspiring for the formers of Rosenborg! Did you know? Odd lost the very first Norwegian FA-cup final (2-0 to Grane in 1902),, but won the four finals after that. After missing out in the final in 1907, they lost three in a row (all to Lyn) in 1908, 09 and 10. They also won the final in 1915, 1919, 1922, 1924, 1926 and 1931. These finals makes them the most winning cup team in Norwegian football. The gang that formed Rosenborg in 1917 were fans of Odd, even though they came from a town far away from Trondheim. We even stole their name, which we had to change when we got into the FA. But the reason why Rosenborg are black and white is actually because of Odd. We're Odd fans... ![]() After the Cup title in 1931, it took Odd 69 years to win it again. Beating Viking 2-1 on golden goal, which is Odd's most recent title. In the later years, the cup specialists have stoped in the semifinals: 2007: Haugesund 1-0 2008: Vålerenga 2-1 2009: Aalesund 1-0 2010: Strømsgodset 2-0 a.e Can they go all the way in 2011? ![]() Erik Pedersen chose to celebrate Odd's title in this way... If so, all the spots in the team must work out. And one of the most interesting players is the 18 year old Torgeir Børven. He scored more than 40 goals (!) in league 2 earlier, and he has already scored a few in the league. Is this too soon to get the responsibility for goals? Might be too young, but he is definitely talented. Torgeir Børven, mark his name! Other than him, there are quite old keyplayers in Odd. Simen Brenne, great winger with skills. Tommy Svindal Larsen has played for ages, and has controlled their midfield for ten years. Morten Fevang, loved and hated. Will do everything for the crest. Torjus Hansén must be like 50 too. Håvard Storbæk, great and offensive player. And now, Frode Johnsen has returned from Japan as well. How good is he? Jone Samuelsen should be a good addy to the squad too. ![]() Morten Fevang Squad: Goalkeepers: 1.André Hansen 30.Andreas Lie Defenders: 3.Ulf Riis 4.Morten Fevang 5.Torjus Hansén 14.Fredrik Semb Berge 17.Emil Jonassen 21.Steffen Hagen 23.Niklas Gunnarson Midfielders: 2.Håvard Storbæk 6.Simen Brenne 7.Tommy Svindal Larsen 8.Jone Samuelsen 10.Magnus Lekven 16.Aleksandar Corovic 18.Erik Midtgarden 20.John Anders Bjørkøy 25.Qendrim Lipoveci Forwards: 9.Mattias Andersson 11.Frode Johnsen 13.Magnus Myklebust 15.Elbasan Rashani 19.Snorre Krogsgård 22.Torgeir Børven Full name: Odd Grenland Nickname: Oddrane Formed: 31 March 1894 Located: Skien Homeground: Skagerak Arena Capacity: 13,500 2010: 5th in Tippeligaen The Manager ![]() Dag-Eilev Fagermo Managed Odd since their Adecco season in 2008. One of the managers that's most in media, critizing others. Such a bad losers, can't say I like him. Always defends his team, even when he knows he is wrong. Bah! Must admit that he has got good results, though. Birthday: 18 January 1967 (age 44) Played for: Raufoss, Kjapp, Snøgg Managed: Skarphedin (1995-02), Pors Grenland (2002-04), Notodden (2005), Strømsgodset (2006-07) ![]() Back from Japan: Frode Johnsen, who's been a keyplayer for Rosenborg in Champions League, and lately for Naguaya in Japan. Finally...a video Official song of Odd Grenland. You won't understand the lyrics, but the tune - you'll get it stuck in your mind! So....Odd for medals? Odd for Europe? |
