Kitchee are only a team from Hong Kong but they gave us a good workout. You can see we've stepped up a level and I'm looking forward to more of a challenge against Aston Villa on Saturday. I was impressed by Sturridge. He showed enthusiasm and clearly wanted to impress our new manager. When Chelsea swapped Benayoun for Joe Cole, I didn't like it, but I'm starting to like the deal now. Benayoun has been impressive on our tour of Asia so far. Torres though - he's really lacking confidence We gave him 30 minutes today and you can really tell he's not the player he was at Liverpool. He didn't slide in for balls (a ball came in from the right into the six yard box and he could have put it in if he actually did something), his free-kick went over the bar and he hit the post. His luck really has run out. Pre-season is supposed to be the time for him to regain his confidence after what happened last season, but it seems to be taking a while with him. I'd like to see him up front with Drogba, but 4-3-3 is what we normally do so I can't see it changing.

His confidence grew straight away and you could see it. He was going for the ball and running past players. Is Torres on the way back? I hope so! This all happened after Villas-Boas put him up front with Drogba! Hopefully he tries it against Rangers too! McEachran scored after 36 seconds! Chelsea ended up beating Aston Villa 2-0 to win the Barclays Asia Trophy
