20 hours to go! England's team for the Argentina match has been announced: Ben Foden, Chris Ashton, Manu Tuilagi, Mike Tindall (captain), Delon Armitage, Jonny Wilkinson, Richard Wigglesworth, Andrew Sheridan, Steve Thompson, Dan Cole, Louis Deacon, Courtney Lawes, Tom Croft, James Haskell, Nick Easter. Replacements: Dylan Hartley, Matt Stevens, Tom Palmer, Tom Wood, Ben Youngs, Toby Flood, Matt Banahan. I thought Banahan would start ahead of Armitage if Cueto was injured but he'll be a good impact substitute I think. Good team. Glad to see Wilkinson starting ahead of Flood too! |

The World Cup has begun! New Zealand beat Tonga 41-10 in Auckland. The game was over in the first thirty minutes, but they weren't so good in the second half. I'm glad Tonga got a try at least! |

Nice opening game by the sounds of it, are the highlights on ITV any time today? I might give it a watch. |

Did you watch it? Four games on tomorrow then: Scotland v Romania Fiji v Namibia France v Japan Argentina v England Big match for England - perhaps the battle for first place in the group! Argentina will be a big challenge, as seen by their performance in 2007. Great side, but I'm confident we can do it! |

Argentina 9 England 13 Scotland 34 Romania 24 France 47 Japan 21 Fiji 49 Namibia 25 Oh my god, England! They were so poor today! Wilkinson missed five successive penalties and we gave away so many penalties! Thank god Argentina sucked with their kicking too! Ben Youngs came on and saved us with a try, and then we started to do well - with 13 minutes to go! I'll blame it on nerves, but we definitely have to improve if we want to win the tournament!I watched France-Japan too. France were only winning 25-21 at one point and Japan definitely had a chance of taking the lead! Unfortunately France turned it around in the end. Same for Fiji-Namibia - Namibia looked close at one point! Even Scotland struggled against Romania at one point (so it seemed in the highlights anyway)! Interesting day! |

Only caught bits of New Zealand's and Australia's games, pretty meh on both counts. The match I did watch was Scotland-Romania, great game! Was very much supporting Romania and they were doing so well, they have such a strong pack. They make pretty bad errors so I was surprised they hit the lead with 10 minutes to go! Really a shame that Scotland scored two late tries, the winning one definitely had a forward pass in there.

South Africa 17 Wales 16 Ireland 22 USA 10 Australia 32 Italy 6 Great performance by Wales, despite losing! South Africa scored immediately at the start of the match, even before Wales properly touched the ball! Wales did really well afterwards and could have won at the end if they didn't miss a penalty and a drop goal. The rugby ball seems to be causing kickers all kinds of problems! Unlucky, Wales! |

Just letting you know I'm following France's scores on L'EQUIPE incase you think I'm going to start supporting them if they're in the quarterfinals or something Apparently, we didn't win properly according to the press - but I'll take the score anyday

You got a flurry of tries in the last 10 minutes apparently, Alle a wins a win so take it . We were lucky to beat Argentina tbh, seeing Wilkinson miss 5 penalties in a row was like...... seeing Ameobi score past Sunderland

Just rewatched the highlights from all the matches so far and yeah, Scotland-Romania seemed great, Hugh! The 'smaller' matches are quite interesting to watch! The rugby is back in a few hours with the following matches then: Samoa v Namibia, Tonga v Canada and Scotland v Georgia. Should be victories for Samoa, Tonga and Scotland there. Interesting prediction, Marius
