My apologies for my long and unexplained absence, but now seems a pretty good time to make an appearance eh? :neuwine:
Nice timing :|

Tell me, who deserved to win, in all honesty :neutie:
As Chris says, though it was France's match, the were rubbish throughout the tournament. It wouldn't have been a good end had they won. The behind the scenes was a tad childish between the coach and the players. The coach seems like a bit of an arsehole

But shit it was a nervous match. I don't care much for rugby, but if we didn't win, the media would've gone on and on and on about it for weeks. They still will now, but not in a whiny manor. After we lost to the French the last time, the media was unbearable.

Yeah, now you can sign up for the new season.
If you're talking about the complex super league, such an idea would be highly illogical. I currently have 3, yes 3, jobs, and on top of all those jobs is the band which takes my full priority at the moment :neuguitar:

NZ is back! Congratulations!

yes, the All Blacks deserved to win as they were the best team in the tournament and throughout the last four years. However, Franco played a great match and exceeded all expectations. I honestly thought would take it at the end. However, the hoodoo is broken for the All Blacks. A good tournament comes to an end.

Indeed, congrats, even if you don't like rugby! I hear the final was live on five different channels!?

France were fined for advancing towards the haka! How ridiculous is that!

What was your match of the tournament, lads? Happy with your team's performance?

TV1, TV3, Maori TV, Sky Sport 1, The Rugby Channel, and Te Reo (with Maori commentary). So yeah, 6 channels :neulol:

The fine is total bullshit. The IRB have proven to NZ during this world cup that they are corrupt and greedy. From fining a team for something the IRB knows nothing about, to bullying local businesses in host cities. The IRB no longer has any respect in this country :snooty: :neured:

Of course. It looks nice! It's different and I like that. Did you get my Facebook message ages ago about your old school being mentioned on our TV? :P

Oh yeah I forgot about that. I don't use facepage so much these days.

Yeah McCaw went to my old school. The school never shut up about it

yeah they fined the French team for the Haka walk, that's pretty bad. The French did a great thing and it really psyched them for the match!

As for the match of the tournament (that I saw), I'd say Scotland-Romania or Australia-SA. Australia's performance was actually pretty poor throughout, but there were enough signs to show we can do better in four years time.

I think more teams should take on the haka. Why do they have to just stand there? Nice going by France.

I wouldn't go that far Jake, it's a cultural thing. The haka is a challenge, you respect the haka by accepting the challenge.

But yeah, regarding the French, you are meant to be strong in front of the haka. Most New Zealanders actually say is was good for the match that they charged towards the haka, it really created great tension for a world cup final.

What pisses me off is that the IRB are getting involved in a cultural thing they know nothing about. There is no rule in Maori culture that says you are not meant to advance towards the haka.

You should see the haka in high school rivalry matches (like my old school Otago Boys' High School vs Kings). Each team does their own school's haka as a challenge to the opposition. Builds tension nicely. A lot of passion involved.

Exactly! It set the tone for the match and made for a great final.

I know you don't like rugby, but how much of the tournament did you watch? Just the final?

Watched the Dunedin games (on tv), the opening match, most of NZ's group matches, and all of NZ's knockout matches, and of course the final.
