Kim Jong Il has been pronounced dead (according to North Korean National Television). So, looks like his son is primed to take charge then. |

Yep, big news! North Korea is interesting to follow since it's isolated from the outside world etc, so the news that its "Dear Leader" has died is fascinating. His third son should take over now, but will he bring North Korea more into the international community or continue his father's work? Obviously it's impossible to tell right now as no-one outside North Korea really knows what he's like. The newsreader was crying and they showed North Koreans crying when they showed the news. Fascinating to see inside the country and the reaction. I guess it wasn't that surprising since he's been suffering from ill health for a while, but it was definitely surprising to see on the news this morning! |

He only lived till 69, he looked a lot older! terrible basket case North Korea. It's a real shock to see the people reacting like that, they really are clueless as to the rest of the world. But yeah like Admin said, no-one knows what he's like. Apparently he already had a meeting with China signalling his intentions of taking over. Though I can't see him making progressive steps to opening up the country, at least not for a long time. |

Just seems too legit. even the scenes at the funeral were similar. Crazy parade they had, btw. |
