Herve Renard has worked wonders with the squad (I'd like him to take over Senegal - he's the next Bruno Metsu IMO), talk about a fairytale ending if it happens. But even if the Ivorians win, it'll be cool too as they haven't done so since 1992. I look forward to it BTW Mali 2-0 Ghana earlier, Alain Giresse getting in on the act with 3rd place

Great match actually, despite it being 0-0. End to end stuff. The penalty shoot-out was epic! Can't believe Drogba missed a penalty in normal time! Great to see the underdogs win. Emotional for Zambia after 1993...

Then the Zambians hit the post in extra-time through Katongo! As the game went on, I was pushing for them They deserved to win IMO, well done and credit to Herve Renard (who you could hear shouting throughout the match - as usual Mayuka was his main target ) for keeping them on their toes, the hard work paid off in the end. Toure and Gervinho missing in the shootout, gutted. Great ending - I like how the Zambians did their chant throughout the shoutout and then to the cornerflag when they won it African football

two trophies, many runner-ups. Posts: 3,942 Group: Members Member #29 Joined: March 28, 2006	ok Congrats to Zambia and all that. but is this tournament not getting a little stale? This was by far the least interesting one in a few years. The teams that are around are just not full of the stars that this tournament deserves. No wonder smaller teams like Zambia can win it, it's held on such a rushed schedule every two years while the majority of players are in the middle of their gruelling winter seasons. Seems like Drogba, Toure, etc would rather be with their clubs. And there is going to be another one next year? please.. Edited by hugh, Feb 13 2012, 05:56 AM.
