So, I'm sure we've all heard by now that Vlad Putin has won the Russian Presidency Election and is the country's new president, however it isn't without controversy. Apparent "fix claims" are being thrown around by the people of Russia....All I'm wondering is, what brought these claims on? Also, TC2 post your thoughts on this. |

Well, for example, apparently people voted in one district and were then taken to another to vote again. |

I swear there was a video of someone feeding ballot papers into a machine, may have been a recent election in a different country. |

Nope, it was Russia. This is a strange one. Clearly there were some dodgy tactics going on and Russia still has a long way to go before it can be described as a legitimate democracy. The fact that Putin has been ruling since 2000 and will now rule until 2024 (he increased the presidential term from 4 to 6 years, and let's be fair, Medvedev was pretty much a puppet during his term) really attests this. But there is something to be said for him, he is strong willed and knows how to represented Russia on the world stage, which is why he is still undoubtedly the most popular leader in the country by a long shot, although his margin decreased. |

And then he'd get Medvedev as his puppet for the following six. |
