27 people have died in a Connecticut school - 18 of them children - in a shooting attack by a man named by US media as Ryan Lanza. His mother taught at the school and was also killed. He killed his father at home. RIP.

Ridiculous. These shootings happen too often in the States. Gun ownership is enshrined in the constitution and I can't see that changing any time soon. Obama was visibly moved as he made his speech - speaking as a father there.

What a chicken, killing himself. I guess we have to make sure everyone is allright. All of these gunmen seems to have social problems and excluded from soicety. But why take revenge on the young kids? Did anyone see the note of Brian? Such a tough read!

How many shootings have there been recently in the US? And by recently I mean like since October? Thought I've heard about a few others recently. When I heard the news, I wasn't as shocked as I was when the wave began a few years ago. And you never know, it's worldwide too. Finland a few years back! And Utøya was a kind of school as well...

Chris points at gun ownership. What else needs to be discussed? Security on schools? How to "find" the gunmen before they do it?

I saw the note of "Bryan" and I kind of don't believe it. Think it's a fake. How would he have time to write that?

There are some sick people out there :( This needs to stop

RIP. I'm feeling so depressed. That teacher that locked the kids in the bathroom and saved their lives deserves a ton of credit, though.

School security needs to be adressed. Gun ownership needs to be adressed.

There was a note that was supposedly left by a kid who was shot. It was something like this:

I'm sorry Mommy that this happened. I love you so much mommy and we will be together again in heaven. sorry mommy i love you

So, so depressing. Seeing the note is much worse, as I did.

It has been a tough weekend for everyone in the country. It's sad really.

It's the gun laws as Chris pointed out, what needs to happen in order for them to change? This year alone we've had mall shootings, movie theater shootings, now this. It's like every other week, there's a shooting on TV (and let's not forget about the shootings that go unnoticed as well on a daily basis - let's not forget Columbine or Virginia Tech either). Things have to change, if this isn't a wake-up call for the politicians, then I don't know what is.

I can't see Americans giving up their right to have arms, it seems entrenched into society.

Well Lanza is going to be cremated and his remains kept in a secret location, apparently.
