A Malaysia Airlines plane has vanished on a flight to Beijing, with 239 people on board. The plane went off the radar south of Vietnam and its last known location was off the country's Ca Mau peninsula. Not sure how much we can read into the stolen passports of an Italian and an Austrian... |

Strange story really.. wonder if they actually hijacked the plane. Maybe they did and they put bombs aboard somehow (really wouldn't know how but alot of stuff is possible) Maybe it was a failure and somehow the kerosene tank exploded. Seems most logical to me that the plane did actually explode while being a few miles up in the sky, because if that wasn't the case then the separate plane parts should be somewhat close to each other, if it had crashed into the ocean. |

I was wondering if it was a hijack too. Apparently it might've been turning back, so I thought maybe hijackers took a different course. I wouldn't have thought of it if the stolen passport story didn't come up, otherwise it might just be what happened to that Air France flight from Brazil a couple of years ago. I always wonder what the people on board were thinking and doing as they saw their flight go down towards the sea. Must be a weird feeling to know you're about to die... Huxy - a Boeing 777-200ER. |

Sounds like there have been a bomb, as the plane suddenly dissappeared from the radar. Surely, if it just crashed when it went off the radar, they would have found it, but if there was a bomb far up in the sky, there must be thousands of parts from the plane. When that French plane crashed outside Brazil four-five years ago, they found parts really quickly, didn't they? It has been gone for 80 hours now. |

A plane will also suddenly disappear from radar if it flies below it. Under a certain altitude, radars are useless. When a plane hit water at high speed, the entire thing will disentigrate more than of a bomb. An explosion mid air, in high altitude, should send thousands of small parts to the surface, and they should be floating. If a crash happened, parts would already be propelled downwards. B-777 does have a safe record however. |

Did they find the Air France pieces quick;y? I thought it took them years to find the black box at least. |

Didn't they? I thought they were found straight away! I hear they fear someone might have turned off the tracking system on purpose. What if they actually got so far as India or even Arabia, which I keep reading? |

I think you're right, they found pieces within days but not the black box. I read that a man on an oil rig saw something burning in the sky far from where it disappeared off the radar... |

This story is just freaky. According to some satellite and radar evidence, the plane might've been flying for seven more hours and the plane could be anywhere from Kazakhstan to the Indian Ocean...![]()

Obviously it's sad that this plane has disappeared, but it's quite fascinating that no-one can find it. I'm really hoping it's at some tiny airport on a small island that somehow nobody has thought to check... |
