The vote is coming up soon for Scottish independence. Are you for or against them being independent?

I hope every voter has to watch Braveheart the day before the election, so there's going to be 110% pro votes.

For me, there is too much still to consider, and with many subjects there is room for uncertainty. I know life is about risks and you don't know if you don't try - but if an iScotland goes horribly wrong in four years time, its not like we have a election to get back into the UK.

As it stands, currency is the main priority - and the people do not know what will be used in an iScotland. Alex Salmond is adamant that a currency union will proceed, and that the talks of the refusal of a CU is scaremongering. The Governor of the BoE (Bank of England) has stated that the use of a £ currency without the union will not allow Scotland to be independent as London will have full control of budgets, mortgage rates and interest rates. Not to mention potential rises in prices in every day stores.

To me, remaining part of the UK, and investing in Trident, is a sensible approach. A iScotland with no weapons of mass destruction, would shout out to other countries as an easy target. Russia for example. Experts have predicted that Russia will look to try conquer countries in the future. Leaving the UK would end all alliances, who will help wee Scotland out in the future if a war is waged on our lands? Our defence has hardly been spoke about which is a concern to me. We are told that in an iScotland, we will spend just over 2 billion on defence. Right now in the UK, every penny of the £34 billion spent on defence, Scotland benefit from just the same as Wales, Northern Ireland and England.

In the event of a yes vote, the Royal Bank of Scotland has warned that it will relocate their head office in England, along with other major banks - Clydesdale, Lloyds and TSB, and Standard Life - the biggest pension company in Scotland - have also stated they will look to move south due to uncertainty of the currency.

Oil will be our main source of revenue. But that is nearly impossible to estimate how much it will produce per year. From 2012-13 Oil and gas revenue sat at a respectable £6.7 billion. It now sits at £4.1 billion. We were told that Oil revenue was overestimated by between 45% and 60% by Alex Salmond, and that come 15 years down the line, the decline in oil is going to cause destruction to the Scottish Economy.

I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I strongly feel as if a No vote is the sensible approach right now. Scotland can and could go it alone, but there is still so many factors no considered. How much am I going to pay in tax to fund for independence? No one actually knows how much it will cost us, the Scottish people.

Yes, Westminister is not perfect. If that comes in the shape of more powers being devolved, then so be it. The UK is not broke, so it does not need fixing. Remaining with England, N.I and Wales is for the best, not for us alone, but for everyone.

Yes Cammy, vote for the union!

Curious about these experts and their thinking behind Russia "conquering countries". Would they really try and 'conquer' countries outside of their sphere of influence?

Been ages since I seen the article, however not much more had been said about it - still food for thought, I do not trust the Easterns.

Edit - here is a recent article http://www.businessinsider.com/scottish-independence-and-russian-submarine-invasion-2014-8

Interesting article, and didn't know about some of the recent Russian incursions up north. I don't think Russia has any need to invade or attack Scotland as they have no need to, but it's still good to be prepared against it. I think the best way for them to be prepared and ready for anything is being part of the UK and having our nuclear submarines up there protecting them as a deterrent. Independence would mean the UK taking the submarines down south and the deterrent is lost.
