First of all, I wasn't sure whether to put this in Off Topic or in here. However, it's going to dominate the news for the next few weeks (but sort of is already), so I think this is the right place for it.

Who will win the UK General Election? Will you vote? Do you care? What do our non-British users here think of the election?

Background: We currently have a Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition. Polls are going between a Conservative and Labour minority government with this election being perhaps the most unpredictable ever. UKIP are on the rise, just like the SNP and the Greens. How well will the Liberal Democrats do?

News today: Cameron says he won't seek a third term if he wins this one. Fair enough I thought, I never would have expected him to. Then I read the reaction - people think he's arrogant for presuming he'll win this one and people say it's risky to say this on the eve of an election...

I have not been following it much, although the general feeling in Scotland is to stop the SNP getting any sort of power. And when I say general feeling, I mean the majority that voted no.

Go labour or go home. Even though your labourparty seems like kind of a shitty labour-party, but I don't pay much attention to British politics, so I can't really say.

Polls predict a near Labour wipeout though!

See at first after the referendum, Labour were the only party to vote for to block the SNP. Now I'm unsure with the likes of Jim Murphy moving into a leadership - can't stand the guy for his comments in the past.

I'm honestly thinking the Torries, but I have not paid enough attention to it just now..

I'm gonna vote for UKIP because fuck the system! People say that my vote is vital, so if my vote for UKIP helps them cause an upset then let's cause some chaos!
On a slightly serious note; All parties are all talk but very little action, so if UKIP do get into power then what's the chances that they'll change anything? Nigel Farage apparently drives a BMW!

"they're all talk and little action, what's the worst that can happen?" was said in Norway as well. Then we got our conservative-racist coalition, cooperation with the Christian party. So now politicians tries to fuck over students, make abortion illegal, more than 50% of religion in school should be Lutheran Christianity, we're breaking human right laws and the right party is bragging about deporting children back from asylum from the worst places in the world, the criminals are staying - and it's still two years untill next election.

Don't underestimate your votes and the impact politics actually have. It's not "all just the same".

I think the United Kingdom is more civilized than Norway, though I don't really care too much for politics as the government, regardless of whoever is in power, will do something that will outrage the majority. I'm more-than-happy in my own little world of not caring, watching from the side, and knowing that I'm able to get on through life as normal.

Don't worry, we'd have to put a huge stamp saying "IRONIC" on it - or something like that!

UKIP had my backing at one point last year, now I don't even want to see them anywhere near power.

Votes count. Everyone should vote. So annoying when people complain afterwards about a party, and you ask them 'did you vote?' or something, and they say they don't like politics. Well then...

This is why I'm voting UKIP, unless there's an option for the Monster Raving Loony Party....

Did anyone watch Cameron & Miliband Live? Miliband seemed to do well actually. Love Paxman's questioning.
