And there the leader of the French radical nationalist party changed her Twitter profile picture to the Union Jack. Well done.

I'm gonna wait for the mass hysteria to die down, then we can make heads and tails of the situation.

Well, nationalists in Ireland, Wales, Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland and even fucking Texas have started rabbling on about their independence/greatness as an own nation. In the case of Germany, it's probably just rebranding the EU to New Greater-Germany.

The British stock exhange lost about £125 billion today, so there goes all the money saved from leaving the EU over the next 15 years. And then there's lost income tomorrow and so on as well. The UK isn't going to turn into Zimbabwe in a week, but this has hurt the British economy, and thus the people of Britain as a whole - mostly the poor and middle classes tricked into voting for leave.

Again, I'm going to wait a week or free to see what happens, no point saying that x-thing is happening when it could be the calm before the storm.

Good Luck, Have Fun!

So much difference in the way the young people voted, Scotland and N. Ireland voted, that I'm really afraid about the unity of the kingdom itself, going forward...

Still though, it is what it is! Maybe the grass is greener on the other side, maybe it's not. If someone can make it, it's the UK ( oh well Germany and all of the Scandinavians can do it as well :P ).

Also Ivar, nationalism and racism got a major boost by the EU policies over the last 8 years, unfortunately...

Strange times, try to be calm and prudent people!

It's so many things to point out in this vote, and so much it will affect, and have affected already.

But just looking at the votes
Spoiler: click to toggle

That divide between England and Scotland is insane. Scotland obviously knows the economic implications from leaving, as they got it shoved down their throats by English banks when they voted for independence. So understandably the nationalists there, now the reasonable ones, want to have a second vote for independence, as they feel utterly fucked over by the Brexit.

Ireland is already divided, but with the EU-ruleset the borders are open and almost gone. People in Northern Ireland have the possibility to choose between English, Irish or both nationalities. So now they will be both EU and non-EU-citizens. The previously washed out borders will have to come back, not just for customs, but passport-checks and whatever. As refugees(the enemy of UKIP) that legally have gone to Ireland, could just walk over the border into the UK. I've seen some Irish papers - reasonable one, not the Irish Sun or whatever - compare the Brexit vote to planting a bomb under the Good Friday Agreement table. But finally uniting Ireland would be great.

Gibraltar was very into staying in the EU as well. It's fair to say that there's some tension between Spain and England regarding ownership there. So Spain has already reached out to propose overlordship over Gibraltar, or at least shared, so there is a possibility the rock might stay in the EU. It would be amazing to see Great Britain just turn into Little Britain with everyone leaving them, and with Boris "Cake!" Johnson as a possible prime minister, you deserve it.

Talking of English conquests, what did the Falklands vote?

EDIT:
Oh, and yeah. nationalism and racism is on the rise. But not just because of the EU. It might have started some things that people have used to push some buttons on others. But the same thing is happing without the EU. In Norway, in Russia, in the US. Ignorant people in economic disaster, losing jobs and seeing their countries shaken by things they don't understand. It's very simple just to become angry, and then some politician is also angry, and figures the foreigners are to blame for everything - and it makes sense for the ignorant. Now it is even worse than it was in the 1920-30s when nationalism was on such a rise, because when people like Donald Trump and others shout out their racist messages, they are allowed to do so, almost with no opposition, the media then divides into those who want the viewship the circus creates and the media who has something to gain(Rupert Murdoch&friends - you know, Fox News and The Sun amongst others). Muslims are apparently evil and makes your country bad, by both stealing all your jobs and all your welfare at the same time. They are all also terrorists and is going to kill your dog. It is scientificly proven that if you see a muslim, you will die by instantanious combustion within seconds. These are things that are allowed to be said on TV with almost no one adding: "This is not even sligthly close to the truth, this guy is full of shit and this is why: ... "

Oh wow, that turned into a messy rant. But you can see who voted what also based on this word cloud or whatever you might call it. Where what words from both Leave and Remain-related posts are highlighted, the bigger they are, the more they have been used.

Leave
Spoiler: click to toggle

Remain

I'm so annoyed by the result. People have voted for the unknown. Many economists, foreign leaders and experts said it was better to remain. We could've helped reform the EU from the inside. The Leave campaign were clearly telling lies but yet people still voted for them. Why!

Immigration is clearly the biggest reason why people voted leave. People aren't happy with seeing Polish shops around or foreigners apparently taking benefits from the state. Whatever. People who come here work here, pay taxes here and help contribute to the economy.

The young all mostly voted Remain. It feels like my right to work in 27 other countries has been taken away from me against my will. Older people just see a foreigner and want it to "go back to the way it was". Jokers.

I hate this line "we're getting our country back" as well. Where did it go then? Leave campaigners claim immigrants are taking over (no), we don't make our own laws anymore (no...) and the EU dictates everything (not quite...).

Brexit life at the moment: The Conservatives are looking for a new leader, Labour's Shadow Cabinet is falling apart and we're still waiting for Article 50 to begin.

Just looked through a bunch of reports of rasicm all over England, it's just heartbreakingly awful. And it's all legitimised by the fact that leave won, so it's somehow okay. Seems like anyone with a decent tan gets attacked. Your country is really fucking messed up.

In-active last couple of days, but what a shame. Hard to disagree with you guys and just gonna throw my tributes towards the posts above. A sad sad day that was. Shame results and the Brits googling the basics of EU the day after really shows how pathetic this is.

Exactly. 9000 others also put a tick in both boxes.

Someone my sister works with says she voted leave because she "didn't know what else to vote for" and could give no reasons why she voted that way. Ridiculous.
