There's been almost 50 terror attacks in Turkey so far this year. I think at least 3 of them have been in Instanbul. Not saying this one isn't terrible, it's that they all are terrible, and that our focus is so narrow and self sentered just makes it even more wrong. Context: Yesterday 50 people was killed in Yemen, 8 in Iraq the day before, 25+ another spot in Iraq the day before that, then 15+ in Somalia the day before that, 90 in Libiya earlier that week. In the start of this month IS killed a combined number of 500 people in Iraq. Not even mentioned, but the fact that a clovn changed his name on Facebook for the Iceland-win yesterday, that reached the front page.

Won't rant about how fucked the news are here. It's terrible what has happend in Istanbul, but the only reason we hear about it or care for a day is because it could have impacted some western Europeans.

Exactly. It's sad that we're getting to used to it now and Turkey is only being mentioned because how 'close' it is.
